Default ET Street Radial ?'s before i hit the track

I have 275/40/17 ET Street Radials on my car and plan on going to the track tommorow.I have a 9" with 4.10 and a monster stage 3 clutch.I am going to the track tommorow. How do these hook on the strip??Should i go through the water box with these. What kinda 60' times can i expect.Any help or tips would be awesome. These tires only have 500 miles on em.

I have 440 rwhp, pretty much full weight car.

Do you have street tires on the front? If you do then I would try and pull around the water and then back into it so it doesn't get on the fronts, and your not trying to drive through your front tires trail..

With that power and those tires your not going to be able to get TOO crazy, but you should be able to be pretty aggressive. There isn't a lot of sidewall on the 17's so your not going to be able to shock them off the line, so a good fast clutch slip should do wonders for ya

Best I have done is a 1.8 on a 265/40 18" and 3.42 gears and T56 with basic rear suspension mods in high altitude. And yes you should go through the water box. Once smoke starts to roll off of 'em come out and you'll be good. They are up there as for drag radials traction wise and I felt them to be a little more consistent than BFG DR's. I really like them for street use.

You should go no less than 12 PSI for a 3000+ lb. car and the diameter you're running according to M/T tech bulletins.

What size tires? Is this on your new rear end? 4:56 gears? I'm going to the track next friday night with 4:56's and 275/60/15s and I'm wondering how well I'll be hooking.

If you dont have line lock your in for a hell of a day. These things IF there is good prep will not allow a normal burn that you can catch after dumping the clutch.

Well i couldnt manage better than a 1.8 60'.These tires even with a nice burnout just wont hold.I would dump the clutch at 4500 and they are all over the place in first.ran 11.9 at 119 as a best with a 1.87 60'.Time for some 15's with some slicks

Definatly a good much easier idea to get 15s and slicks. You can go ET streets or full drag slicks but the ET streets should be plenty for you and should save you some money and technicaly you could drive it on the street if you wanted to.

Man forget Et streets, those are just outdated. They sway on the top end too much. You have to put tubes in them for them to not sway. i have had better luck with Hoosier QTP they are the equivalent of the M/T et streets not the radials. The hoosiers don't sway and hook like they are supposed to. Etstreets+tube= more $$$ Hoosiers-tubes =less$$$ and equal the same result.

To the OP, I think you might have to learn how to launch your car on those MT D/R. Auto cars do fine on those D/R's. You might want to slip the clutch a little on a 4500 rpm dump. How was the prep at the track? You might want to wait for a big tire car to do a burnout and then go in the lane behind him to get on that fresh rubber. You don't want to get in a lane where the first five cars in front of you were on regular radials doing John Force burnouts. I have cut a 1.73 in my stock c6 vette 6spd and my buddy has cut a 1.65 in his turbo camaro 6spd. this was after some seat time learning what the car, suspension and tires wanted. Good luck and keep trying

i run tiny 235/60/15 MT ET streets on my Datsun and my best is a 1.77 60' with them but I can't fit any more tire in the back of the car
still netted me my 11.77 @119.9 though, i think I have traction issues lol

Yes, Jegs and Mickey Thompson site suggests that you use tubes in them for stability and air retention. You can run them without tubes but you will fight your car at highway speeds. The tubes for them at Jegs ar $63 a piece. Screw that I will just buy a Hoosier and be done. Hoosier has on their site that it is safe to run their slick without a tube but it is up to you if you want to put one in for better air retention.

You need to learn how to ride the clutch out. Hell when my car was cam only and on 325/50/15's it would blow them off if I left at 6grand on a clutch dump. You have to leave high as hell but slip the clutch until the car starts moving then come all the way off the clutch and all the way on the gas

I've been LOW 1.60's on 325's with my six speed.
