yes it will be lighter than the mild steel bar but to be legal the bars still have to be welded together

that sucks man, i guess i will have to get the steel so i can weld it, im sure as hell not paying 1000 for some moron to do a few welds on a chromoly one

Well I've deciced to order the 10 pint SW cage from Jegs Mild Steel and do this task myself. I'm buying a nice 135amp mig welder with some of the big bucks I'm saving. This car should still come in under 3400 with me in it after the cage so I'm just gonna do it this way. I don't really trust anybody else working on the car anyway. I'll definately post some pics.

We just finished installing a Wolfe bolt together chromoly in our C5A4. All the parts together weighed just under 60 lbs. The parts individually looked of a pretty nice quality, but the fit left a lot to be desired. We had to use a
grinder on the pads behind the seats to get it to fit correctly. I was a little chapped at that, plus the top of the roll bar is a nanoinch from the underside of the roof. We do not have all the bolts tightened yet, but I doubt that will pull the hoop down more.

I am having a custom built 10 point chromoly put it. We weighed all the bars and it only weighed 42 pounds. the mild steel was around 90
