K&N wanted $300 to retool and fabricate a one off air cleaner to fit my clearance needs on top of the super vic so I bought an $18 4150 air cleaner and trimmed the air cleaner base, filter element, metal and plastic cowls and hood just so I could drive on the street with air filtration, the filter will have to be removed for racing

Actually I'm not pleased with the appearance at all but atleast I have some filtered air for cruising around. I think I am going to cut 3 or 4 circular holes in the top cover and use some window screen or something on the inside to for the additional filtration.

Maybe, check out the airbox vents they make for dirt bikes, atv's, etc. I think they are 1" and have foam filters built in.
