If you really want a comfortable seat, these are the only way to go. I have one in my 69, it feels like a recliner.

Im about the same size (6' 4" and 277lbs) and I can get in and out of a Kirkey Pro no problem. We have the seat set up to go to two positions, one for the owner who is about 5' 10", and one for me. When its in my position the back is bolted directly to the cross bar. If the car/cage was built specificly for me, you could have moved the main hoop and cross bar back a little further and it would have been a little better.

that was me, longest trip so far. I was a day behind other guys, and drove strait thu 1 day. 13hr drive time google maps, 830ish miles . i did it in like 12hr hauling *** over 80 most of the time. (thought was 11 till i realized the time zone change) but missed the bbq dinner thing anyway. One time I left my wallet in for 4 hrs maybe and that killed my right leg. but other than that there were ok. I normally take anything out of my pockets anyway but forgot. you can't really get to the wallet for drive thu, with the harness make it a pain so you learn that. The trip back was 2 days, so that seams fine. wearing cargo shorts started to get sore the leg pocket button, not the seats fault.

With no cruise and the door bar The 17wide is alot nicer for long drives so you have a little room to adjust how you sit slightly, you calf muscle ect. but thats not the seat. and you have room for a winter jaket, or 2-3 long sleeve shirts you notice the seat get sung like a 16 fit most guys, i would want that for a race car.

same, Ive had, and sit it a lot of different racing seats. and friends in ride in my car really like them, and say the same thing. Ive had a big dollar 7-800 sparco evoII or something in my gtp. and had a cheap forza set still like my alum shell kirkeys. my roomates had sti, evos srt4 and the kirkeys are more comfortable we both think. he has a set of the lightest carbon shell seats, and is gona sell them make a lot of money and get some kirkeys. some other local evo guys have gotten prodrags over there $600-800 seats.
get the racecraft brackets and you can out them how you like.

I'm a fan of the poly seats from Jegs & Summit.

do you have a link to those? kirkeys are kinda pricy once you add the brackets and seat covers. and especially since i already paid for procar seats that i'm currently running

The plastic seats are okay for a little while, but a trip over a few hours will get uncomfortable!

I found a cheap way to mount just about any seat. You can disassemble the stock sliders. Take the slide and remove it you will be left with the bottom mounts. You can drill holes through them and bolt the seats to them using grade 8 hardware and spacers for the front. The mounts bolt in the stock postion and the seat is reclined back using the spacer. The stock bottom mounts are double thickness where you drill the holes.
