Default battery relocation(ive searched)

Ive read a ton up on this and just wanna ask a couple basic questions an go over what i have planned an just want to verify its correct. And im running all new wires NOT using any of the old stuff

1. alternator fuse- where is the best place to put it( closer to the alternator or closer to the battery?)
2. Im running all 2g wire is that fine?
3. what i have planned in my head on how to run the wires is
-2g wire from fuse boxes to starter
-2g wire from starter to 1 side of switch.
-2g wire from alternator to other side of switch(inline fuse somewhere)
-2g wire from battery to side of switch with alternator

grounds
- 2g wire from motor to frame rail
-2g wire from neg battery to ground somewhere in the back of car(whats the best spot?)

do i need any other grounds?
do i need a fuse inline with starter?
I also need to find a location for my on/off switch. any ideas?

thanks

Sounds like your on the right track. I'm using 1awg welding cable from my batt to my starter some people say it's overkill but seems to be working great for me. You wan't the fuse right after the alternator. If you search battery relocation or cutoff switch theres a ton of info, and pic's of where ppl mounted ther switch. Sounds like you've got everything figured out other then where your gonna put your switch.

I know of a few formula guys that have there turn style moroso cutoff switch mounted on the middle panel between the tail lights. It looks pretty good. I can't remeber there user names though. I'll do a quick search and see if I can find some pics for you.

Here's a link to a bunch of pics although there all push pull ones. I can't seem to find pics of the other style at the moment.

FYI push/pull is the only kind that are NHRA/IHRA legal.

??? I have this switch on my car, it's never been questioned at any of the national events I've been to.

If it'a a push pull stye it must be "push off" and if it's a turn style it must be clearly marked which way is off.

I've seen tons of cars at the track with turn style switches. Most actually have the turn style at the track I go too. And If its a push pull style it has to be push for off.

Not true. It can be a switch as well. and either way they need to be labeled
