Default Track Day

Hey guys, im going to a legit track this weekend and wanted to know the best RPM to launch the car at ( Car has catback + Lid )

The closeset local track has terrible prep and even with the larger SS 275/45r17 (crappy hankook tires) i get horrible traction in 1st & 2nd Gear.

Ive been launching the car at around 1200Rpms but it seems to want to bog if i go any lower, anyone have any tips?

I'd try about 1800 first go on the track... just dump it from there and see what happens. You will likely bog. Just learn from there.

Start out at a low rpm...if it bogs, raise the launch rpm until it spins. That should find you your sweet spot.

Toss a slick on there and let it eat. No clue how you call the local track "crappy prep" when you're on street tires, so can't see it being an issue either way.

Thanks for the replies, yeah the track is horrible, its much more slippery than on the street, which i get better traction on.

My buddy whos in highschool has a Full Exhaust and tune and I told him after he but radials on..Come out at 3500-4000 quick slip it( Dont dump it)...first time low 1.8 60fts..hes gotten a lot better and has ran mid 12s at 112..Not bad for Long Tubes and a tune and a 17yr old kid.

Take off front sway bar, 275/40 MTs, and learn how to slip it...youll be golden! But I suggest start a savings fund for clutches and a rearend...
