amazing. i love the car too, wicked clean and love the color and look. what tires r u running? i know someone said drag radials in a previous thread but those look like either hoosier QTP's or Hoosier slicks. when records like these are set it takes a COMPLETE setup to achieve. and that is when u know u have the ultimate car. congrats again.

Well done. Is there any way we could get a little list of what's done to the car? I know you don't want to divulge all the secrets but if you could share a few things I'd appreciate it. I'm not trying to steal any secrets, I won't ever be aiming for any cam only records.

Which stock heads are you using? 241 or 853?

1 7/8 headers
Custom y-pipe and single muffler
Under drive crank pulley

Very impressive, you definitely maximized your combo. Nothing custom or extravagant about it, you just made it work better than anyone else.

Congratulations on the new record!

It should hang around for quite a while I would think. It's gonna be VERY HARD to beat that time!

Im supprised someone has not taken a notch stang or something and gutted it/pulled a ton of weight out of it (light brakes molly everything ect ect) or done the same in an f-body and tried it.

I bet one day someone will break it and do it at like 2500 pounds or something.

9's on a T-REX at 2900 pounds is impressive.

very nice to say the least... :p

I have seen ALOT of cars run great with the T-REX cam in them. I know of a few that have gone 10.xx cam only using it.
And now, 9's.

It's funny like that, damn trex cam has been around for what 6 or 7 years now, and it's still the best stock ci/head camshaft going.

Can't argue with the results.

If you think a 4th gen f body can get to 2500 lbs and be single digit legal for tech purposes, good luck. I'm trying for 2800 with a 230 lb driver, and believe me that's proving to be damn difficult.

This record, was also set at probably one of the fastest tracks in the country and was done in mid november conditions... that being said there's usually only a hand full of days that any track is open and the weather will support this type of performance.

That's not meant to be a dig.. these guys spent the time on the car, did their homework, and waited for the best possible conditions to make it happen, and got the job done.

So far, the Mustangs in the 9s used LQ based engine swaps.

Never said it would be legal or at least safe haha..... I meant with no driver..... with a driver I don't see it happening.

I have no problem with someone setting a record at a hooking track and with perfect weather conditions....... if you (someone) can get an edge then why not.
