Chained down
I've noticed that some of the faster cars with front aftermarket shocks and springs are using a small chain to limit the amount of travel(front end lift) when taking off.. Can somebody explain why you would want to do this?

the less travel you have in the front end, the less it will want to come off the ground. Guys are putting the limiters on there to keep from standing it on the bumper. reducing the amount of drop the front suspension has, makes it harder for the car to unload the front end. Thus keeping the front tires within a reasonable distance to the ground

I think if you saw vids of LS cars from 99 to 09, you'd see that the quickest guys now rarely put it on the bumper, because they've now got (a) really good advice over the years, (b) travel limiters and (c) double adjustable shocks.

Believe me I understnad that. But, with 1 inch of downtravel, the landing is gonna be rough if it does come up. Those guys have that car on a rail.... and it's got to be on the edge to run like that for sure.
I'm cheating, and putting sissy bars on my junk when it's done. If nothing else it will stop the hard landings from having the front end up more then a foot off the ground. In the end I hope I can have my sled work 1/2 as good as theirs does.

We pulled the tranny out last week to send the converter back to chance and found that the case was broken from putting it up on the bumper in Ga.
Nothing like going 177mph with a broken tranny case (2 bolts holding it in)
I think the reason this motor is has such a small window right now is because the converter is still 1,000 rpm or more to loose. When we can get one tight enough I think it will widen our susp. window and tighten the nitrous tuning window up a little.
Good luck to you guys ... Some of the 275 guys make it look easy, it aint !!
Thanks to MADMAN for his help !!

I think not having a motor plate / mid plate is not helping at all with the power you are making. I think a smart investment this winter would be a mid plate and motor plate

I was helping someone that was running Hot Steet in NMRA and Pro Stock in NMCA and 1/4-1/2 of a flat on the front shocks was either a 1.17-1.20 60' or on the bumper. It was ridiculous how sensitive the suspension was!
