Securing Seat to Roll Cage

I was reading the NHRA rulebook for 2010 and saw that it said the driver's seat must be bolted to the roll cage bar that runs behind the seat by at least one bolt, but every picture I've ever came across of cars with roll bars or roll cages the seats are not connected to the bar by anything.
Am I interpreting the rule incorrectly or are these people not NHRA legal?

A lot of people don't install their seats (or harnesses) correctly. If you have a cage, you can weld a stand off with a piece of flat stock (it will look like a T) to the cross bar of the cage, just make it long enough so it fits snug against the back of your seat. Drill a couple holes, and bolt the seat back to the T shaped piece you just welded to the cage cross member. There are other ways of doing it; Jegs sells a kit that accomplishes the same thing just in a different way, but i like this way best.

Every cage I have seen has tabs on the back for the seat. IMO a soft Aluminum seat like a Kirkey needs it for larger guys and force that is applied with a 1.3x 60 foot hit off a T-brake.
Leave it to the fab guy to do the job as once the seat is in there, they can cut and weld to fit.

I would say google search it but I had a hell of a time finding it. PM JL-ws6 a mod here and he should have a pic. IF NOT I will get one tonight when I go over. To give you an idea. This was the best that I could find. Its sorta covered by the belts but the flat peice should have a bolt on both sides and it secures the upper section.....

Thanks for the pictures guys, thats awesome.
After some extensive searching on the internet I've come to the conclusion that you don't have to backbrace a factory seat, or any aftermarket seat that has a full frame. As I understand it the only seats that need backbraced are the ones that dont have steel frames and don't mount to the four factory floor studs. I'm going to call NHRA today after work and get a full explanation of the rules.
Thanks for the help guys.
