Looking for 12 flat!!
Okay so I'm running around 12.70 avg 1/4 mile time with 1.76 60 ft time. It should run better than this which I have ran 12 50s with this set up, but with a ported tunnel ram with 800 DP (just trying out different carbs) and now had 650 on it temporarily that ran the 12 70s.
all in all, my goal is low 12s maybe 12.00 and I'm thinking a 750 DP and 4.10 gears and maybe some intake porting on rpm air gap.. What are your thoughts??? Would love some input!
So question 1: how many tenths did you pick up from 3.73 to 4.10
Question 2: what else can I do to help reach a 12.00
Current set up
: 355 sbc brodix aluminum heads
Xtreme energy comp cam hydraulic roller .520 lift
Stock bottom end
Srp forged pistons
10.5 compression
Rpm air gap 650 DP
Underdrive crank pulley
No ac
3450 with me in it
700r4 constant pressure valve body
3500 Hughes stall
Mosuer axels and limited slip 3.73
Stock housing
Stock suspension

It's a 4 speed auto and I'm just about wrapped up in third gear at the finish, it could stand a little higher rpm at the big end.. Do you think with 4.10s it would raise my mph if I still have another gear yet?

Only a 1.76 60ft with a 3500 stall in a 3400 lb car sucks. you need a better stall. There are cars with lower stall converters and heavier in weight getting to the 60ft faster than you. I would try a different converter first.
Put up the full cam specs if you have them.

Would it help if I stalled it up on the line? My cam gives my factory brake system no vacuum to stall it up so I'm forced to just nail it off the line..
Cam specs:
Operating Range: 2200-5800 RPM
Duration: 282° Intake / 288° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 230° Intake / 236° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .510'' Intake / .520'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
If I need a bigger stall than 3500, what do you think it should be? 4k?

Yeah it did run better with a bigger carburetor and I'm definitely going to get a 750 on it.. I had a Holley 750 hp but it ran like crap I think it was something wrong with the carb itself.. The last pass I made with it was 40 degrees timing and it's not vacuum advanced and all msd with 6a box

You might not need a bigger stall just something better than a hughes stall. Talk to Coan Racing and ask for Walker there. I have bought over 6 grand in trans stuff from them and have never been let down from any of their stuff. If you want to go bigger like a 4k I don't see a problem with it, I would just talk to them and see what they recommend.
Try bringing the rpms up to ~1200 rpms and flash the converter and see if the 60ft gets better. Some converters like to be flashed and some do not.
Just to give you an idea, my cousin has a 92 z28 and all we did was put a 2800 stall from Coan, shorty SLP headers no cats, 3.42 gears and the car went 13.0 with the stock 1992 350 long block with 122,000 miles. So if his car can do that your car should be able to do way better than that with the mods you have.

easiest way is just to spray a 100 shot and you could run easy high 11's without changing the streetablility. What kinda wheels and tires u use? I would get some 15" MT ET drags on it and really let the stall rip. My bolt-on LS1 ran a couple of 12.10 @ 111mph with a soft 1.68 60ft.

You tune your timing with the mph not the 60 ft.

That's a pretty decent e.t from just gears and stall on a 122 000 mile sbc!

I have a set of Mickey et's 26x10.5 on some regular rally rims. I guess my main goals here are
1.work on my stall off the line
2. Get a 750 DP
3. Possible gear swap to 4.10
Does anybody have 4.10s as a street gear in a 700r4/4l80e?
