A lot of the LS stuff is carried over from here though or vise-versa so you arent missing much in that department but there is a ton of info on general racing and rules, etc.

Ill put it this way, if something happens in the racing world that means anything, you will probably hear/read about it on YB first. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

If you run aftermarket doors you have no choice to use lexan. There is a substantial weight difference, if you have picked up even a gutted OEM door you know what I'm talking about! Why in the world you would pay $600+ to run aftermarket doors but want to retain the impact bars is beyond me, but they do not have the metal bracketry inside so this is not possible to use the bars or factory glass...
Sounds like you have a street car and this is the last mod you need.

They also look like they have the provisions for the OEM locking latch, key hole, and door handles as well. He's quoted as saying:
Fiberglass

I'm not sure if the weight is per pair or per door. I would like to see what an OEM door weighs without the door bars, glass, window motor, or locking pieces inside of it. I had a spare door a while ago, but hucked it.

You can take about 24 lbs of the stock doors off with DMH's door panels, and then you can get about another 10 lbs per door out with some cutting, which I already did. The 93 lbs also includes the safety bar, which is another 7 lbs.
So, you can get 41 lbs out per door on a stock set of doors, but you still have 52 lbs of door, compared to the 5 lbs for the carbon doors...
That's alot to save. I wasn't going to do them... but I might have to now![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)

Door Fiberglass = 1.90625 lbs
Door Crash Bars and Brackets = 17.5625 lbs
Window Regulator Metal = 1.8846535171744791666666666666667 lbs
Fiberglass Removed:

Door Bars and Brackets that hold them into the door:

Window Regulator:

With all of that said I am honestly considering buying a set of those doors from the link above. I don't have a lot of money, but I think the fiberglass ones are much more akin to my budget and should be just as light. I would like to see what a normal door weighs without all of the extra stuff though.

Yeah.... but if the damn things don't look factory you know how it is...
in the end I don't "think" I need to do anything more with the doors then I already have to get to where I need to be weight wise. Granted it's always nice to be able to move it around wherever it needs to be... but the chances are it's not gonna be THAT over the limit.
I have to be in the 2800 to 3000 lb range depending on what I end up doing with the motor setup... right now I think with the lighter possible weight, I'll be about 50 to 70 lbs over (2850 to 2870)... which isn't gonna kill the car. Certainly a hard thing to justify spending another 2500 bucks on to get the carbon doors on the car that's for sure.
But... if I happen across the right deal, I may jump on it.
I also have to look at a couple other possible chassis modifications, which could dramaticially change the weight of the car as well. It would eliminate me from being able to run any stock suspension type class... but for what I want to run, it's perfectly legal.

I just did a set of Glasstek f/g doors for a customer. Complete door with 1/8" lexan, all the hardware, door latch, aircraft window latch, etc was 18 lbs.
Down side is cost. Parts alone are between $1400 to $1500, plus about 40 hours of labor for fabrication to install.
