Default Stupid Driveshaft ?

How hard should it be to slide the drive shaft in/out of the transmission(six speed)? I have to knock mine out with a dead hammer. I was wondering if this could be causing my susp. to bind up. I also had to have the seal on the back of the slip yolk replaced because it went missing.

Mine have always slid out easily. Maybe you have a spline that got nicked or something.

When I first installed my Moser and 3" Denny's Nitrous Ready Steel DS. I noticed the first time it was binding but everything was newly installed. I recently took it out to put a D/S Loop ( redundant!? ) in and it came out VERY easy.

If you do not have this situation, then it could be twisted either on the output or DS input shaft.

This sucks! Guess I'll find me a used ds and check to see if it slides in and out properly.

I had problem with an automatic doing that. I had to take the tailshaft housing off and slide the shaft on and then put the tailshaft housing back on. I never had a problem with vibration or anything. It was a brand new performabuilt unit.

my 4L80 and billet th400 yoke was VERY tight at first, but now with a little wear its smooth as butter. A little grease on the splines made it easier.

As long as the manuals are like the autos then there is a spacific way it goes in If belive.

If the trany yoke isn't indexed then something is wrong. It should slide in and out with very little resistance.
