Default Ever driven slicks in the snow?

I have wanted to run my slicks in the rain and in snow since the day I got them. Not on the street but just in the parking lot at work to see if you have some, none or good traction. I haven't had a chance in the rain but today with about an 1 or less I took my truck out into the snow to change bays at the shop. I was amazed at how much traction I had. I was expecting almost 0. I was able to move almost like I had good tread. My friend also said that my slicks were throwing snow like they were a all terrain tire.

We are getting 4"-7" of snow tomorrow so I plan to see if I can get it stuck.

I am curious if anyone else has ran there slicks in rain or snow. Mine are DOT slicks just for referance.

This is what I figured. Obviously the reason no one should ever drive on the road like this. I was just curious if anyone has on the road or like I have now in a parking lot.I didn't get up to any speed but taking off from a stop and stopping at a low speed was surprisingly confident. I plan to play in the deeper stuff tomorrow if I don't get stuck 3 inches out side of the door.

My buddy used to DD his camaro on slicks and skinnies almost year round. In chicago winters, we'd see him out and about all the time on a set of ET streets in the back. He only drove in town, but he did do it.

I got caught in the rain with mine once. I couldn't go over about 25mph without the rears just hydroplaning.

deep tread is better for rain and snow. no tread (slicks) would be better for dry pavement and ice.

All I can say is about 5 years ago I had some Nittos that were REALLY bald, like even the outside edge treads were near done so basically a street slick.

Well coming home from the track which is a 105 mi one way drive, we get caught in a decent down pour and on the freeway I was fine driving 55ish, but IF I tried to push up past 70, the rear would want to walk back and forth so I toned it down.

My biggest concern was hard shifts even at low speeds, I used to see fox body stangs loop in similar conditions.
