You need to do 1 of 2 things.

You need to either mount the battery in a sealed/vented box so that fumes don't get inside of the cabin area, or you need to build a firewall isolating the trunk/battery area away from the cabin area. It's the drawback of owning a true hatchback type of car. You will not pass tech if they get picky. Keep it up front and go with a lightweight braille or oddysey battery until your car is flirting with 9's.

Because im running a front mount fuel cell the only thing I have in the back is the battery so im using a Moroso box, my car wont have the tire well much longer. If I were running a fuel cell back there id use a generic box and use a bulkhead.

So you have to have the battery in a box if its in that spare tire well period? What if its a sealed battery like an optima?

Technically yes. I've heard of people getting away with no box though. Depends on the track official that's teching the car that day. NHRA requires one though.

Im running the burkhart unit and have 0 complaints. Its a good bilit holder and came with think *** welding wire. You DO have to put it in the spare tire well or you will come up a few feet short on wire though..... ask me how i know :/

No firewall or bulkhead = sealed vented box.

I'll tell you right now that a Moroso box will not fit in the spare tire well. I was sold one by a large sponsor on here being told that it will fit. When it came time to move the battery and mount the box it wasn't even close to fitting. Measure the space you have and then hunt down a box. I'm looking at a cheaper jegs one right now for $24.99, but it doesn't say it is NHRA legal. I'm guessing because the lid isn't airtight, but I still plan on having a vent tube on it.
