Default Electric water pump WITH heat?

Anybody running a meziere "race" water pump, but still are using the factory heater box?

trying to figure out a way to connect the two hoses from the heater box, so that I can get heat?

I'd have to say it would require drilling and tapping and installing fittings somewhere in the pumps housing.

reason being they made a street style one and a race one.

Who needs heat in a race car, and who needs a race style pump on a street car?

Bought the race unit, because the car was going race only. But now, I'm going for a street/strip setup, so I need the heat.

Can I Tee off the radiator hose, to the heater box lines? Wont be the cleanest look, but should work.

Do I need to Tee off the inlet and outlet of the water pump, or can I get by with just one of them?

If I remember correctly, it's this one:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MEZ-WP119S/

It's the Meziere unit.

there are extra plugs in the top and bottom of the pump for running the hoses in different locations. pull out the plugs and put fittings in there for your heater hoses. the pump itself is 1" pipe thread. you will need 1" pipe thread to whatever size hose barb and that should work fine for you. may have a hard time finding the right fittings but wouldnt be hard to make them if you had to.

you can even take the plugs out and drill and tap them for 1/2" pipe to thread some hose barbs right in the plugs since 1/2" pipe the 3/4" hose barbs would be alot easier to find. or even just drill the plugs and weld hose barbs into them. whichever would work

I think there is only one extra port. I'll take the plug in and drill and tap it for the hose barb, that's no problem (good idea, thank you)

What should I do with the other hose then?

I'll have to go look at mine. I only had to "plug" one outlet?

Looks like the heater hoses are 3/4"?

I found a 1" NPT to 3/4" Hose barb on McMaster-Carr, hopefully I can find one locally, and out of aluminum.

crap....I'll have to look again then. I just looked at the one hose.

Which one is the inlet and which one is the outlet? Any idea?

I'm just nervous about the drivers side outlet on the pump, with that 1" NPT to hose barb connection, making sure there's enough room, then having to run a hose back over to the passenger side. Trying to think of a clean way to do that.

Any suggestion where else I can look for fittings besides McMaster Carr? It doesn't look like Earls or Aeroquip go that large in NPT.

I know my hydraulic store down the road will probably have it, but I'm guessing it'd be brass, and everything I've read says that brass and antifreeze is bad luck lol

cool thanks!

I'll have to check on the other size of the hose.

Also, if anybody knows what hose is the inlet and which is the outlet (on the heater box) let me know - or does it even matter?

you can get a 1"npt to -12an fitting from meziere and run steel braided over to the passenger side. then put -12an to 3/4" barb fitting to adapt it to the hose. would cost a little bit (guessing around $75) but would look decent.
