When the car falls on it's face leaving at 4000 you will be leaving off the limiter right quick.... and if you don't put a 4.30 or 4.56 gear in the car you'll find it to be even worse.
Don't even think about trying to slip the clutch either, a couple local kids used to do that all the time and they'd to thru them faster then you change your socks. NO clutch, can take that.

Yea on the 19th the first day they open up. And it wasnt that bad when i was launching at 3k on my 10 bolt until it broke, and my car is a daily driver its not a drag only car, if i wanna run 10s ill get on my cbr1k. As long as i can cut like a 1.7 60 ft im fine with that and im really not looking at running faster than 11.50 cause im not gonna put a cage in the car.

See, you keep saying this, and I want to believe you, but a spooled, 5.23 geared car is going to be retarded for daily driving.
Have you driven a car that was either spooled, or had 5.23s in it? You don't have to, but I would heed some of the advice given to you.

You see theres this invention called the ford 9 inch and its fairly easy to remove the center section where the gears and differential are located soo easy in fact that you could swap out a second center just for when you go drag racing

FWIW, that 5.23 gear will be in the neighborhood of what the fast stock eliminator f-body cars use, except that they use a 30x9 tire. I can't see that hooking on a 26" tire. I would also think that if you race it alot, you will hurt 5th gear and the 5-6 shift fork. It just isn't designed for hard wot shifting into 5th. Good luck with it though, maybe it will work better than everyone thinks.

last year it saw 5 passes but this year it should see alot more like 25 to 40 if im lucky mainly i just drive it everyday or go to cruises. And 5th gear has lot of new parts on it like synchronizers, keys and springs and a new gear soo i dont see it failing soon. I do shift slower into 5th though. Well if it doesnt work out i can always go down in gear not a big deal.
