Default V6 Shell for 25.3 build?

Hey guys I can't seem to find the information through numerous searches.

I am building a 25.3 Chassis Camaro to compete in Outlaw Drag Radial and/or X275....

Been waiting a long while trying to find a cheap Hardtop roller or even full vehicle to use for the build but cannot find much.

However there are countless V6's out there for $1500-$2000 and they are ALL hardtop cars..

Is there any difference in the Shell of a V6 car versus a V8 car?

I figure I am adding a 25.3 chassis anyway so it shouldn't matter right?

Thanks.

to the actual chassis no its mainly a difference in wiring and the suspension stuff, but with a 25.3 build all that will be changed more than likely

nice part about the V6 cars is you can get them cheap and drive them around until you get all the parts then tear it apart.

v6 shell is fine. all you'll be keeping anyhow is the LCA suspension pickup points and thats the same in either setup.

Its what I am on th Hunt for right now too. Wasnt gonna cut up my Formula so I sold it. I will drop $500-750 on a blown V6 4th Gen and swap a LS front end and Harwood dash in it. Everything else is gonna get redone anyway.

If I could do it again, I would have picked up a V6 car to start from instead of a perfectly good SS Camaro to cut up!

Does it matter if the roller is a Firebird or a Camaro? I mean, I have a Formula that I think is bent; and I keep finding Camaro rollers for $600-$1000, but the Firebirds are all $1500+. Could you get a hardtop Camaro shell and put Formula body panels on it?

Use a V6 or a B4C car. We bought several camaro's at the auction for $2100-$3500, in varies conditions. My camaro was a SC state trooper car, paid $3200 with a brand new paint job.

I think the quarters are different but don't know for certain.

Hmmmm, that's right, the rear fenders are part of the unibody, not seperate.

The Camaros seem to have more tire clearance so I would assume the inner and outer rear quarters are different. Maybe even the tail panel but I've never looked at a Camaro and Firebird side by side with the bumper and tail lights removed. You would have to have a Firebird crunched in the front and an almost free Camaro roller to make all that work worthwhile.

I've heard exactly the opposite, the Firebird has more clearance. I agree; too much work involved to turn a Camaro into a 'bird. Shouldn't be too hard to make a '93-'97 'bird into a '98+ though....
