Default What do you guys recomend for SFI belts?

Im needing to put a 5 pont in my car. I dont want to break the bank being this is a street car. What are you guys using, who sells a cheaper belt?

Is a cam lock a must, what are your opinions on the hook and loop?

Thanks
Austin

I run the $70 RCI platinum ones that you find in any jegs or summit catalog. Hook and loop style for the past decade at least.

I have used R.J.S. hook and loop belts since 2003. Cam locks are nice but not required.

We run the RJS latch style belts. I had cam lock in my old car, and its nice but when you need the belts to be cert'ed it money that you dont need to spend.

I run the RJS latch style belts. I replaced my old one because they were out of date. I'll sell them cheap if anyone wants them. Black

I ran a simpson latch style belt in the car before I took it apart, they were fine. The camlock are nice but as said they're more $ and unless you plan on rushing in and out of the car I can't say that they're needed.

I would look for something that the manufacturer will recert.. I know the simpson ones I had they would not. Even the 2nd one I bought for the passenger's side that never had anyone even held in with them.. they would not recert any belt that had been out of the box.

ya **** simpson. that was a scam they just stopped doing it.

I sent my passenger set to RJS right before the INDY Lsx this year to get re cert. (kept the driver set for street driving) it was $59 shipped back. You can use a CC and tell them to call you when they get it, and that saves time them writing them a check, and them cashing it. The did it same day and I had it back in 2 days.
It looks brand new, the rebuilt the camlock, paint it or whatever and new sticker. I didn't look close at the shoulder and sub, but the Lap had all new ends taps. I drilled them out a little so the stock seat belt bolts fit, I know thats a no no for NHRA/IHRA. So I think they noticed and changed them. haha. So I had to open them up agian.
Whats cool too is they adjusted them right how I had my old belts, and cut then extra off and melted the ends like I had to. OS I just put them in and they were mint.

They even changed the style I had them, they were pull back shoulder and lap. I called and asked about it and wrote a note about it and they called me to check. With the deep side kirkey prodrag and my little ***. I could never really get the lap belt tight, and keep the lap and sub tight to my hips. The flap will get picked up on the side of the seat, so it would never stay tight down. I had them change the lap to pull down. Its alot better. The tighten part is only about 4 inches form the end that gose to the floor. Thats fixed now, stitched soild. I didn't think about it, but they have to do it that way. So you pull the extra strap up, in your lap. The outside is easy to get to behind the seat. But the inside with the center consel you can't really get to with the belt going in the seat. But once you set it, you don't really adjust the lap or sub. I just loose the shouled belts a little, and pull them that 1/2 tight after all 5 are in. Its been fine for Indy. MIR, and maybe 100 street miles this fall. I like it that way better, its safer for keeping my hips tight down in the seat now this way.
