I worked on some older cars with poor fitting bellhouseing..2 starter spots, chevy, and BOP patterns. I hate that stuff, I want aftermarket parts to be better then stock.
My quicktime fit just like stock if that helps. I should have weight it but is heavier for sure.

mine fit better than stock, the dowel locations were tweaked on the stocker, the quick time slides right on. It's alot heavier studderin, but worth it... I think it weighs 21 lbs.... stocker is like 5.

The weight of that bell housing, vs having stuff come through the floor at you... I wouldn't care if it weigh'ed 100 lbs it would still go in the car.

The inner fender well came out do to the car slamming down so hard the 1 2 shift is hard in the air the next pass was alot better lol. I did have a valve job done on the heads but no porting is allowed I do also have the stock valves so it's close to cam only

Can you guys point me in the right direction.......

Car would dead hook with stock internals @ 6200rpm (then bog)

When I change the trans (RPM level 4) I found the slip yoke had twisted splines, so I installed a strange chromoly unit.

Since I added heads and cam - I can't dump the clutch on the 2-step above 4000 without massive wheel spin. Looks like a bounce/spin to me. Quick slips kind of work - maybe I just need more practice.

Tires are 26x11.5x15 ET Streets no tubes and a lot of passes on them - 12psi
4.11 Gears - 9" rear
Monster Level 3 clutch - Quicktime bell - Tick hydraulics
Lowers are in the stock holes
MWC short torque arm one hole down from the top (3rd hole up)
Pinion angle 1.5*
Spoon Drag bar
Front SA QA1's set at 1
Rear DA QA1's set C-12 R-12

I'm wondering if the tires are done - they are still sticky enough for them to pull the rpm's down in the burn box, but maybe the sidewall is wore out??? The have easily 150 passes on them - thread looks good still. I'd hate to buy tires right now and not have it help.....or should I just go 26" MT Drag Stiff walls or change the gear and go 28"s?

Car went 1.65's last night slipping the clutch @ 5500ish without the 2 step. As soon as I add the 2-step to the mix (WOT) and let the clutch out it's spin city.

I'll get some video up tonight - and slow it down.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's what I came up with:

Stock Bell: 8.4lbs

Quicktime Bell: 22.8lbs, Engine plate, 2.8lbs. Total: 25.6lbs

Not familiar with the QA1's, so where are the adjustments at in the range? Are they maxed out or is there more left? I'm assuming the negative means stiffer, no?

The slo-mo vid will tell you a lot on what the suspension/chassis is doing and what it needs. If you're getting tire bounce on the hit, it'll need a lot more compression and rebound. Hopefully the QA1's have enough valving.

Mike thanks for the response - the slow mo video does still show a bounce.

The QA1's range from 1 to 24 and are currently at 12 for both compression and rebound. (sorry for the confusion with the dash) So I can tighten them up 12 more clicks. Sounds like I should take them up 6 more clicks and try them there.

Yeah, def tighten up the shocks but remember it's possible to go too stiff on the settings as well. Can you tell about how much extension you're getting? Post up a vid if you can. The driver side rear 1/4 view is best.

I'll get a video up later - it doesn't look like a lot of extension, maybe 2 inches or so. As long as I know that taking them tighter should help - I'll move in that direction.

Thanks

video is all washed out from the lighting - I tried to adjust it but it makes it worse. You can see it hit the tire, then the tire bounces, and unloads.

uploaded it anyways:

Extension doesn't look horrible, I'd start with 2 more clicks on the rebound and 4 more on compression.

What editing software are you using for slow motion?

my car used to do the same thing yours does. I'm at 16 clicks compression and 8 rebound. I found that the slower rebound doesnt let the rear unload as fast, Also on the fronts i have the extension 4 clicks from full loose and compression 4 from full tight, which will keep the nose from settling and also from unloading the tires as fast. If i could dial the suspension to do better this is all I can really do to keep it the weight transfer to the rear. I still have too much wheelspin, but it keeps the 60's in the low 1.5x's on a TNT night, which is decent for a 37xx lb car,

Tried it today with the shocks @ 15 compression and rebound 9. Car came out spinning to a magnificent 1.7x 60' - with 15psi in the tires, tried again with 12psi in the tires and the same crappy 60'. Went back to 12 compression and rebound 8 - same thing just spun the whole way through the 60'

1st 2 launches were at 5000rpm quickly letting the clutch out and the 3rd was a 5000 rpm dump. No 2-step today.

No video - I was solo today.

I was going to get drastic and change the lower control arm angle - but found one of my screw in studs had backed out and bent....I called it quits.

Shock changes aren't making a huge difference - maybe the tires are just done......time to go 4.56's and 28" stiff walls?
