3000lbs... kiss my ****!!!!

however I haven't put my unit on the scales in several years. I'm guessing its in the 3400 range minus my 300lb butt. it weighed either 3340 or 3420 with drag lites all around back in the day... Its just been sooo long I dont remember.

I've just got a full BMR front suspension for now(but added the weight back w/ the iron block.

I'm aiming for 3050 or 3100 and I want to keep the a/c.. I'ma do a pin on hood and probably speed glass rear along with all the normal weight reduction

Took a 1" hole saw bit and drilled right over the nuts on the 10mm side of the door bar. On the 15mm side I just used a wrench to take them out.

I'm aiming for 2800 with a BBC when I'm done, class minimum is 3000 for me, and I want to have about 200 lbs of ballast to move around as I need. Car will be back 1/2'ed and a 25.3 cert, and I will be around the 230 lb mark as well.

If you want to spend the $ you can get one of these cars alot lighter then you think. But... it's not cheap.
2800 with a BBC is a lofty goal as well... updating my cage from a 12 point to bare minimum 25.3 added about 60lbs... some things to also think about is all the weight from the BBC up front you'll need something on the rear to get to a decent %.... i have to full size red top optimas in my trunk and a bunch of light weight mods, lexan... etc and still come in about 45.5% on rear.

hell i hung 25lbs off the chute bar just for another .5% gain to the rear of car for now....

any ways... our race weight is 3250 with no ballast... planning on doing fiberglass doors at some point.

Now that its getting close to done I can say 2800 with the alum bbc block isn't as lofty as you'd think... Shifting the motor back helped front to rear bias as well a bit. Going to have to do some firewall notching to clear the drivers side but it will be worth it. Radiator may be going as I don't think it's going to be big enough, so I'm looking at a water tank to put in the trunk and just drain/swap/add ice to as needed to keep it cool, shifting that to the back will help balance it as well.

If the water tank goes in I think it's going to be about 2830, with me in it. I don't want to talk about the $ it took to make that happen, as it hurts to think about.

We've made some change to the car.

once piece front cap and lexan doors, single 16v battery and a few other small things

about 2950 race ready.

to get much lighter its going to be pretty expensive for us.

i have about 25lbs of ballast in the car to make it go down the track.
