I did it for comfort a lot more than for weight saving, stock seats offer ZERO lateral support and I got tired of bracing myself on the console or door everytime things got interesting!!!

Anyone have Kirkey pro drag race seats, 10 pt cage, and is 6 ft tall or taller?

I'm under the impression that the stock brackets might make the seats too high? I think we will need to make custom brackets.

If you have electric seat and you squish it to the floor it is really low,I am 5'11" and have room to put my fist[about 4" I guess] between my helmet and T-Top !!!!!.

It you have hardtop I think you lose a little more headroom!!

If you have manual seat with no height adjustment you will probably be too high.

The Kirkey seat covers are pretty thick in the bottom cushion.

Yes you will have issues. The easiest bracket is a simple piece of tube that runs across the back mounting bolts for the seats. Mine has some tabs on it and then you simply bolt the seat to it. The seat is basically on the floor and the back is bolted to a tab on the cross bar.

It's kind of funny the first time you get in, but it gives you tons of headroom. By the time you put your helmet on a lot of your headroom is taken away. We looked at special brackets and you would need a lot of recline in the seat to get in and out comfortably. Especially with your cage, you're going to loose a few vital inches around the dash to get your feet in and out. Whatever you do, you'll have to do custom brackets that nearly hug the floor pan. Mine is very comfortable to drive though, no complaints with it at all.

Here's what my seat looks like mounted. I'll try and get you some pictures of the brackets. You can see how high my headrest is, it is just at the upper hoop. There is not much room between my hoop and the t-top from there.

A friend told me his seats are bolted to the floor and he's 6'4 so I knew there would be problems. Derty so you have 2 bolts in the back (no fronts) and then the back brace?

I do at the moment, but I'm going to put some front extensions in too. They'll likely be bolted through the floor in the front area of the seats to the sides of the harness. Technically you do have to have four mounting points to the floor and one to the cage. I've not had any issues with two on the floor and one on the cage. Especially since I have 4 harness anchors on the floor and two on the cage that tie it all in together. You won't be able to use the front mounting bolts real easy if you move the seat all the way back. You can see the front holes (which are located in front of the seat about 4") in the picture above.

I haven't looked at yours real close, but I think the best brackets I've seen, are the ones on Harlans car. Maybe he will chime in & show us some pics of his brackets, which might, or might not work for you tall guys.

~15 lbs with the cover.

They are 80% as comfortable as stock.

I am 6'3" and wear and XXL helmet so I need lots of room! If I bolt these seats to the electric base, do you think I will be OK with the whole "Top of helmet has to be below the bottom of rollbar rule"? I bought and installed a couple corbeau leather seats - they look great but I sit up WAY too high.... I need some seats that are comfortable because I frequently drive over an hour to work...

EDIT: I was wondering if anyone knows the part # for the two-tone seat covers. There is a gray/black one on the Jeg's page that looks really nice. HEre is a picture of it:

Thanks!
