Default bought a stripped out camaro and want to run mid 5's in the 1/8th

Hey guys i just bought 4th gen camaro that is gutted and has a pin on vfn cowl hood (paid 500 bucks for the car). My goals for this car is to run in the mid 5's in the 1/8th mile. I plan on building a boosted 6.0 motor with either a 400 or a glide, but probably the 400. most people at my track think you need a 540 big block to run those times and i wanna represent the boosted lsx!!

So basically here are my plans for the car. Stripped down to nothing, but still stock frame. Dont plan on back or front halfing the car. Would love to not have to tub the rear end. I believe a 10 pt cage is good to 5.29 correct (with swing outs?)? This isnt project overkill/record breaker lol just want a reliable 5 second 1/8th mile car! Track follows IHRA rules.

Im curious as to what a 4th gen full frame stripped car would weigh with a 10 point and all safety gear required for those times and how much power it would take to get it there. When it comes to running these times i have no experience so i figured id askj the experts here! thanks guys!

I'm in the process of doing the same thing right now

If you aren't building for a specific class I would work on getting the car as light as possible. If you can get it down to 2800lbs or so race weight it should be pretty easy to run 5.50's with a boosted 6.0 motor.

Depends on what you consider a shitload. Its looking like I will have under $30k in mine and it should go at least 5.70's. That is starting with just a stock roller and buying lots of used parts.
