OP I know my dad always takes his cars to a scrap metal yard. They always have a scale to weigh you when your coming in so they can see how much metal you have in the back because they pay by the pound. Usually they dont charge him a dime if your roll up in something cool.

The scales will tell you the answer, every car is different. You can guess all day long. I'm sure you will be like me the first time after rolling off the scales, disappointed.

That car does not weigh 3150, More like 3300+. It costs money to get these cars light.

I still have the swaybar. Only stuff taken out is in the 1st post. My rear support is heavier than the front. Also I cant believe how heavy my carpet was.

if you want to race a decent amout rip that and the brackets off too(front of course), it doesn't take away alot i kinda like it, softened it up and doesn't feel like a go-cart. also seems to help the 60's alot with these cars.

Yea ok guys I get your point. I was just looking at the stats of 3440lbs minus the weight I took out. I just didnt know our cars were really heavier than that my bad sheesh. In any case the 250lbs+ I took off makes it feel like a new car. 3150, 3200,3300 whatever the hell it is it was a big improvement.

Mine weighs 3305 when I take the front seat and nitrous bottle out. I haven't removed AC, rear bumper support or carpet so you are prob around 3200-3250. Going to try to get track results?

You damn Camaro guys have it easy LOL. I did not realize the camaro was that much lighter than the firebirds. I have removed the bumper supports, the door bars are gone, front sway bar is gone the obvious stuff has been gone for years ac and spare tire. I have a lightweight drivetrain and full race front and rear chromoly suspension, sitting on the lightest wheels made (Bogarts) with drag brakes and about 3/8 tank of gas. A 21lb race battery and I am still at 3220. I do still have a factory full interior with leather power seats but that is one of my goals a full interior street car on pump gas and still lay down a number. That is why I said 3150 is not realistic with no race lightweight parts. I did add a cage so that did add 65lbs but that was a necessary evil.

i have removed all the interior bracketry that was not needed and even the seam sealer as suggested by JL ( good call because it was a heavy bag when finished ), picked the harness apart, gutted the dash, blah, blah , blah... but it has added up. i also have full bmr front suspension and madman manual rack. next up is a pin on hood. i was at 3120 last week and have since removed more metal, the entire exhaust ( added bullets with turndowns ) and a few other misc things. i am pretty certain it will get me to 3k.

In current street trim I am 3345 1/2 tank gas. This weight was achieved with the following removed: A/C, front sway bar, spare tire & jack, windshield washer reservoir, Air pump, longtubes, catless y pipe, radiator plastic shrouds removed, air lid in place of stock ****, couple other small things I'm forgetting probably.

I have leather interior. That weight above was with FULL interior still. 17" ZR1 chrome wheels w/ 275s all around.

For the track day I removed the front passenger seat, rear seat, and put skinnys on the front. I would imagine I was around 3240ish 1/2 tank gas.

When I get back from deployment I am doing a lot more weight reduction. I will be very disappointed if my car for track day is not 2900 or less. I have done the math countless times and have a list of the things I am doing with the approximate weight loss of each.

I even know of guys that go to places that sell gravel, mulch, and what not that sell by weight and get their cars weighed. My towns local transfer station has a scale and Ive always said Id bring my car down there and never did.

I have a hardtop cloth z28 that weighed 3440 stock. It's not hard to get these cars down to 3250-3350....

I'm going to be removing my bumper supports and sway bar next. I can't remove the ac until I have a DD lol

Ok I just weighed it and heres the stats. The scale was bouncing back and forth from 3190-3200 with this much gas in the tank...

I had the glove box stuffed with stuff and smaller things in there to but only a few lbs worth.
So should I call it 3190lbs with a 1/4 tank gas?
