Default Drag Racing with Koni Strano setup

Mods: Bolt ons, yank SS3600, 3.42s. LCA, PHB, and Koni 4/4 w strano.

My Question is has anyone raced w a setup similar to this? Im just curious if I'm going to have to launch differently as opposed to me just flooring it at the green like I used to. I've been getting consistant 1.80 60's w Nitto DRs. Will they be enough now?

I'll let you know how it goes in a few days when I race.

I have koni's and stranos and I plan on going 1.60 60ft with a 6 speed. So far I've gone 1.7 leaving easy and on bald mickey thompson et street radials.

I don't think you'll have to launch differently

OK back with results.

2600 DA hit 12.5@108 with a 1.75 60'.

With everyone saying how an autoX suspension setup is bad for drag racing I was happy to see that it didn't hurt my times at all. I guess if your doing wheelies or putting down more than bolt on power you'd go with a different setup but for me this is good.

So, I'd say that with koni's and strano springs you can easily hit a 1.7 with nothing more than Nitto DRs(although I do have UMI LCA's and a PHB.) I read once people were questioning this so now everyone knows.

I agree. With koni's/strano you can go 1.6/1.7 but anything better then that you'll need to switch the set up.

btw thats a good time for that trap speed.

Thx, the car was moving good today.

I'm still on a stock rear anyway so pushing under 1.6 would make me worry anyway. This is my DD I take it to the track 2-3 times a year. I say if u want more of a casual drag car that can still turn decently and you're not putting down a ton of power this is great suspension set-up. Considering it's not designed for drag racing either.

Nice run. How do you have the shocks adjusted?

last time I checked they were at full stiff. I had a shop put on the springs so maybe they changed it when they got under there but as far as I know it was full stiff. A lot of threads say adjusting them doesn't really do much since koni's only adjust the rebound.

I have mine set at full soft front and i thinkone click from full stiff in the rear. I seemed to notice the front end picks up more with it on full soft compared to when it was at almost fully stiff. I would try it and see how you like it. Ive cut a 1.64 60' on et streets but i spun my way to get that.

Stock springs front shocks on lower perch with the hose mod on the rears. Mwc 9 inch with mt drag radials. The converter is a yank 4000 stall and the car made 415 to the wheels. It went 11.35 at 113 letting off and hitting the brakes trying to run in the 11.50 index race. The car usually goes 119 in the 1/4 I wish I wouldve stayed in it and seen what it wouldve done lol.
