well it appears that no one has done mod ,,,HUH ..well i went ahead and cut the factory shock mounts off ...took a set of auto fab coil over mounts and changed the throat depth about 3/4 deeper to [ut the mount in close proximity to the original stud length...the reason behind this mod is so I can use my Afco stock mount shocks with the car lowered added about 3 inches of additional shock travel length ...

We did this years ago but no pics. We used the factory mounting location and spaced the shock out a little to keep the spring perch off the housing tube. The guy sold the car and we never really got it sorted out, but it seemed to do ok othe than poopy qa1 shocks.

I just saw this thread.
I mounted coilovers in the stock locations. I welded a reinforcement plate in the upper spring pocket. Then bolted a "U" bracket through the stock upper location. Bolted another "U" bracket on the lower mount on the rear. They've been on the car for 6-7 years.

Yeah I couldnt use the lower mount shocks were close to bottoming out ...car is lowered 2 inches over the tire ...so i needed away to adjust shock length ..and I plan on dropping it another inch ...but I got to modify the floor its hitting the torque arm right now...
