Default Hoosier 28x10.5 with 6 speed

Has anyone with over 600 rwhp and a 6 speed used the Hoosier 18155 C07 compound 28x10.5x15. It is comparable to the mickey thompson 3055s (stiff sidewall)
I know the mickey thimpson has been proven over and over. I have hoosier fronts and the rears are about $20 a piece cheaper. Are they just as good. I have been running 28x10x15 D06 compound hoosier 18150's and the sidewalls are wrapping up to much and the tread is getting roughed up pretty bad too. My home track has very poor prep and my race weight is 3640 lb's
Ive been having a hell of a time hooking up at this track. Car has cut 1.4x at descent tracks but I cant get better than 1.79 here. Slicks are also wore out.

I've been running the Hoosier QTP 28x11.5x15, which is comparable to a 28x10.5 slick. These are bias ply (soft stiff wall) but I love them. I've been 1.49 60 on them on a TNT night. with nitrous and a good track i'm sure i could do 1.3x on them my car is 37xx lbs too.

Default Hoosier 28x10.5 with 6 speed

I wish I could get back to 1.4's This is a small town track built this year. I can hook up better on the street in front of my house. Any tips for slick track conditions. Currently set up is
Rear: 3.90 gear, BMR 1" drop 170lb springs, 1" hellwig chromoly sway bar, HAL dbl adj shocks, pass side air bag at 8 psi, lakewood square control arms w. poly bushings set 2 degrees higher in front, short tq arm set 2 degrees higher in front. 60lb bag of cement in trunk and full tank. Tires 13.5 psi drive 14 pass (have tried 10-16). Car scaled 40lb's heavier on pass side rear.
Front: BMR K-member and upper/lower cont arms. HAL dbl adj shocks set 2 off full loose rebound 10 off full tight comp. (Height= 26 1/4 driver 26 1/8 pass side) sway bar removed, bmr sub frame connectors. Eibach springs unknown rate but feel fairly soft. I just ordered some 300lb from speed inc. I have to really baby this thing off the line. 26 skinies/28x10x15 Hoosier full slick. Motor has tons of low/mid torque. Mcleod twin disc is smooth but does not slip when you let it all the way out. Any suggestions?

Right here. 28x10.5x15 stiff sidewall slick. I cut 1.48 spraying a 200 shot out of the hole car made over 650 rwhp and tq. 3800# race weight. Love these tars. I would go with them.

Im trying them now, not sure if they work as well as the M/T yet though. It could be my suspension, not sure yet.

Though Barry from QTP uses those tyres and he is 60's in the 1.3x range with a manual [not 6spd] and a slipper clutch.

28x10.5x15 CO7 are the perfect tire for a stick car.
When i was a 6spd and a spec 3+ clutch pulled 1.30 60ft. Best ET is 9.94
Switched to a 4spd 8.96 and 60fts are low 1.30s.

Hoosier makes a great tire.

I have had a few types of tires.

M&H Race Masters 305/40/16? I liked those alot back in the day. Good sticky tire and good side wall.

MT ET Street 26x10.5x16 Didnt like them that much. Was not that sticky and didnt get good times with them

Nitto 555 Drag Radial 315/35/17-This was my street tire when i drove it on the street. Good street tire, not a track tire

Hoosier Quick Time Pro 27x10.5x15-Loved this tire. Fit my stock wheel wells and pulled 1.49 60fts with SLP Bilstein Suspension. I think i ran mid 10s with it.

Current Hoosier Drag 28x10.5x15 CO7.
This is the tire for a stick car. Period
I only get 25 passes out of them because im spinning the tires on launch. Im spinning while the front tires are in air.
I will get more paases out of the tires as i find that sweet spot with the Mcleod Soft Loc clutch.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the complements.

Default Hoosier 28x10.5 with 6 speed

Thanks a lot for your info. I think I will give them a try. I dont have a slipper clutch so it hits the tires pretty hard even launching at low rpm. I have the 2 step set at 3000 right now and it doesn't bog on the line at all.

Back from the dead! Is this statement still true? I have a heavy (not sure what it weighs exactly) stick car putting about 850hp to the wheels (nitrous car). I'm running a 4:11 gear in it with a T56. Is this still the tire to have?

Thanks

I made aprox 610@ the wheels with the T-56 trans on a 200 shot. 1.42 60ft launching at 6,200RPM on the C07 hoosier 28x10.5x15 stiff wall slick on a 10" wide rim. I only preferred the Hoosier over the M/T because of how it worked on the street for races. At the track I saw no difference between M/T and hoosier.

Quicktime that's a great post!! How much rear wheel horsepower you making? Those Hoosier tires are awesome!! It's something about a t56 car that spins and pulls the front tires on the launch that gets my blood rushing!!

I think im going back to the hoosiers this season. I had great luck from them but tried the mt this year and they work great too but I feel like I get more hits from the hoosiers before the sidewalls break down. the mt are done after about 16 hits. ive been 1.2x on both tires.

What Hoosiers are they exactly? Still the CO7?
