Default LCA angle how critical is it?

I dont have relocation brackets on my car and I was looking at them and they actually run up hill from the body to the rear (the control arm is higher at the rear then it is on the body)

Ive read they are suppose to be level to the ground or run slightly down to the rearend. Is this true? Having it the way it is affects what on my car?

Thanks
Austin

If the rear is higher than the front then when you take off the rear goes up and the tires lift up and the body drops down. Which means spinning/wheel hop.

If the front is higher than the rear then when you take off the rear is pushed down and this pushes the tires into the ground harder which give you better traction.

There is a balance though. When its set up right you will have best traction, but you defintley don't want it how you have it for drag racing.

imagine trying to jump on a trampoline. If you just pick you legs up you don't get off the ground. This is what its like the way you have it. But if you push down the right amount you will get the highest off the trampoline. This is what it would be like if it was the other way.

One of the key points of making your car work.
Need more info:
Front and rear tire diameter?
Measurement from ground to fender well lip, front and rear?
Tunnel mount torque arm?

Im not sure on the rear measurement they're stock springs.

Front tires 25.5"
front ground to lip 27"
Rear tires 28" tall MT Dr's

Full lenth TA relocated off trans

When people say the car needs to be level for pinion angle, where do take your level measurement from, does the car need to be level to set the control arms? Because naturally my car has a rake or stance to it with the tire combination and lover in the front.

Thanks a lot guys

With the 8.8, are you using the stock torque? Did you weld the 10 bolt LCA mounts on to the 8.8?

I just moved mine to the middle hole on the LCA brackets and they still slope up towards the front. I think in the bottom hole they were to low in the rear.

The 8.8 is with a stock torque arm, stock width and is running the 10 bolt tubes in the 8.8 housing. I called ws6 store Im going to try their rpmspeed brand bolton LCA brackets,

I would just order the BMR weld on ones from Summit, they're cheap ($70ish last I checked) I wouldn't be caught dead bolting **** to my suspension!

Car is looking sexy, what have you been racing lately?

And to answer your question, yes, you need the LCARBs so you can get the LCA to run downhill front to back. Bottom hole is probably your best bet. To measure pinion angle you'll want the equivalent of a 4 post lift so you can adjust it while the suspension is loaded. I'm planning on making wooden boxes the size of milk crates to place under the tires so I can get under the car.

Or he can do what I did in the pic. Use 4 ramps. Also forget the DS when measuring PA. use the engine or trans and rear bracket on the TA.

Funny you say that since your entire car is just bolted together including the engine, trans, suspension etc..
Also you can weld on the bolt on brackets at a later date if you dont have a welder handy.
