Default Dzus fastener size and style ???

Getting ready to install my VFN sunoco pin on hood. I've already bought the racecraft rails, but I still need to get the fasteners. Looking around I've noticed they have a few different sizes and styles. #5 and #6's flat head style and even 5/16 and 7/16 allen head style. With different grip sizes starting at .400 going to .650. What size grip do I need to get when using the hood and rails I have? Has anyone used the allen head style dzus fasteners on their hood? Also are there any other styles to choose from?

I used #6

before you drill all the holes in the hood, I would see how it is not uses all of them. Like the 2 front and 3 on the sides. I think that would still hold the hood good? If not you can drill for all of them later. but once you drill the hood your using a fastener there. Just somthing Ive thought about after putting all the racecraft ones on.

I might look into that. Do you remember what size grip you used on the fastener?

I used exactly what racecrafts website said and it worked but I adapted them to my firebird. .500 fasteners and .375 springs i believe.

I used them with racecraft rails - youll have to redrill the socket rivet holes since the milspec fasteners dont have the same footprint
