That car only went 1.8 60' dead hooking on BFG DR's and trapped like 115.

Im not trapping 116, But my 00 Z28 with long tubes, 3.73s, and a shitty TCI converter has ran a best of 12.02 @ 112 with a 1.65 60ft. The car runs consistent 12.0Xs @ 112. All thats taken out is the front bumper support and the rear seats. Car is still full weight other than that.

Even with a larger converter and the same/more mods you still matched the time with a better 60' but 4mph off his mph.
Something is up with it.
This is why I said show me another car with the same mods, or an auto running 12.0-12.4s hooking and running 116mph. You aren't going to do it.

I'd guess it's likly a small cam that doesn't lope and stock ported heads that are milled a bunch for compression, and I highly doubt the converter is stock.
The fastest one of these cars that I have seen that I am 100% was legit bolt on's, no converter etc was running about 12.4 and I KNOW that car was about 3200 with the driver.
Anyone that's running a good bit faster then that... I would challenge it with this question first, are you the original owner of the car?
Because if the answer is no, then you really can't say 100% what the car has seen, what's been done to it unless you bought it from family, a real close friend and even that may still not ever tell you the whole deal.

I'd be looking at the heads too... again any time you buy a car that's used, you don't know 100% what you're getting.
Hell the thing could have a 4 inch crank in it with stock heads and cam for all you know.. and that would certainly make it do what you're seeing....
Anything is possible, when you're not the only person that's had posession of the car. I'd also, fwiw look for any signs that the thing has been apart. Bolts that look like they've had wrenches on them, etc. You start seeing alot of that and that to me is a 100% tell tale sign that someone's been in it. Pull a valve cover.. the springs alone may tell you.

I'm pretty sure there is no way in hell he is putting a stock auto in the 1.7 60 ft. range, without a 4.56 gear and no converter. I still dont see it happening even with a 4.56. I once ran one of the stock trailblazer converters which is like 200-300 rpm over the stock ls converter and I still couldnt get the car to cut better than a 1.97 w/ 3.73s in the stock 10 bolt on radials.
All times and passes have been @ hattiesburg dragway, don't know the exact alt, but I'm sure its no more than 325ft and probably not less than 275ft.

The times just don't add up. There's work done to that car, and the owner doesn't know it.
End of story.... sometimes people sell stuff and tell you it's stock, becuase if you know it's modded up, you know it's beat up too... just comes with the territority.

I beg to differ on that... I went 12.3xs with worn out vig 3600, a lid, tune(by me w/ ls1 edit), FLP tranny(now flt), a muffler(no catback) and an offroad y-pipe. w/ stock 3.23s, broke a set of 3.73s and ended up with the best time on the 3.23s. Went in the 11.4xs spinning. Have had some friends go 12.1 and 12.0s with ss4000s and headers through 10 bolts. same cars now run 11.0-11.3s w/ head/cam setups and full weight cars, minus a slick/skinny setup.

I have a 98 camaro with 3000 tci stall, stock 323gear, stock 98 ls1 intake, stock trans, but has been lightened alot, im guessing around 3050 RW, i run 1.56 60s, 95.5 8th trap, 11.34@118 and only dynos 320 rwhp. Im going back this weekend with ls6 intake, 342 gears, and about 100 lbs lighter aiming for 1.52-53s in the 60, 98 mph trap in the middle, and 10.9x @ 121-122. Im porting the throttle body too. Nothing special here, just raced alot and know what works, get weight off! Ive been accused of juice at the track also, so i put juice on the car, had hooking issues and ran 10.70 @ 127. Ive owned my car for 10 years and have done and undone all the mods myself over the years, it took 1000s of passes to blow the 1st motor, im putting a turbo on it eventually cause i like the way the stock cam drives and idles, but i want to hit 140 plus in the 1/4. Long story short, what has been posted here is possible.

99 red devil, you've got your car about 600-700lbs lighter than a factory car so I wouldnt say that 11.3s is an untainable time. I wouldnt believe a tci 3000 converter would get it done though.

the way you had it posted was that a stock motor car w/ bolt ons would only run mid 12s.
