lol acctually...it wasent as cold as my 11.7 at 113 run...and the car doesent have an alignment just with a tape measure...and i was running bias ply hoosiers instead of radials like normal...i honestly think it has a few more MPH left in her as it sits...

very nice results! I see that you still have plenty of weight to remove which will only make it more impressive.

FYI : cold doesn't always equal good air

yeah, my car actually lost .07 last weekend when air was cooler. I go off my brother's lungs, he can actually sense changes in humidity ever since he quit smoking.

Going downhill help too.

im just thinking, if it did happen how sweet it would be to take the record with a 4L60E, 4000 stall and 3.73 gear...i want that MPH record too hahaha with a radial, tune dialed in and alignment should help, and of corse more weight out

I'm all for you trying it as I think it would be awesome to do it with the 4l60E and a converter built for that transmission, but I dont see it happening unless you have a custom converter built and not an off the shelf piece. Not a big fan of that transmission either.

I did however get the mph record with that same combo you described. Good luck on going after the record. I hope to get mine back together one day to go after the record as well. That 10.685 is some very tough shoes to fill.

try it at 100mph in a Dodge Ram with bad balljoints, tie rods, and u-joints. the second 1/8 mile of that track felt like a waterbed

I run an 11 sec 4th gen on bias ply. Feels sturdy to me, but my **** is aligned. I prefer them for consistent bracket racing, even though I've never run radials.

I've always been all about weight. Radials weigh more but I understand they are a tad faster.

Radials don't weigh more. I just checked this out when Larry@AMS turned me on to the Hoosier Radials. Might wanna check those out.

Radials definitely weigh more than a comparatively sized bias-ply tire. They have less rolling resistance though. The debate goes on about which one is quicker.

Those Hoosier radials are light! But according to this site: garyhoosierman.com, those 2 are the same weight @ 24 lbs. Hoosier has M/T beat to hell in the weight department. Where did you get your info? I can't get the Hoosier site to work.

edit: sorry to clutter up your thread OP. That's a very impressive time.

Took it from McCormack racings site. Could be that the one they list is a stiff sidewall or something. Finding accurate weights is quite difficult. Most manufacturers don't list it.
