Default 28" tire rubbing

I just went to a 28" MT DR and I'm having problems with the backside of the fenderwell rubbing after a run. It doesn't do it until I back off when I cross the 1/4 mile mark. I got it cheched and the rearend is square with the body. I got to either go back to 26" tires or do some trimming.
How many of you has had to trim your rear fenders? And what did you use to do it?

Do you have adjustable lower control arms on the car? If not I recommend purchasing a set so you can adjust the position of the rear axle to get you the clearance your looking for.

I have the full Spohn setup. All top of the line Double Adj. LCAs, TA, Pan hard and a 12 bolt moser reusing the stock swaybar. Its centered and the only flex I'm seeing is where there LCAs moun to the body. Maybe 1/4" and these bushings look like black poly. They might be rubber but I don't think so. It only rubs when the tire expand during a run.

Ive never had an issue with the M/T DR rubbing that wasnt easily fixed by a quick adjustment of the control arms. It definitely seems you have a little more movement going on than I typically see in similar setups.

I had the same issue and my poly inserts were worn. Went to rod end MWC set-up and it's all good now.

I would put a set of rod ended control arms on just to make sure there's no chance the rear is shifting around... if that doesn't stop it, you can take the inner part of the rear bumber cover, where it "wraps" in around the tire a little bit, and trim it with a dremel. A simple cutoff wheel will cut the plastic pretty easy.. I would put a piece of tape on it, draw your line and cut on the line. I had to do that with my transam, the bumper cover's wrap around the tire a little more then the camaro does and at the bottom of the bumper cover, mine would rub. I trimmed it a little bit, the side profile didn't change at all, just the part that was inside near the tire was removed.

Is it on both tires, or just the Pass side. I had this issue but it wasn't when I lifted, it was when I got on it before I put on the Antiroll bar.

I called Spohn and they suggested replacing the poly end on the LCA with Derlin bushings. So I ordered up a set and I hope that fixes the flexing. The LCAs have Del-Sphere rod ends on the 12 bolt end of them so they ought to be good to go. If not its Dremel time! Air shocks would be the old school way of fixing it. I believe I'll keep my DA Afco Teminators. I'm still working on a sub 1.57 60 ft time and a set of Highjackers just won't hang!

I run 28X11.0-16 Hoosier Quick Time Pro's and they rub a tiny bit going around corners. Never during a run. It may be a backspacing issue with your wheels.
