HVAC delete I am looking to install a 10 pt cage in my car. I just pulled the dash, and I was just going to remove the A/C, but now i'm wondering if I am going to have to remove the whole HVAC box for the dash cross bar. Wondering how bad it's going to be to drive w/out defrost. Or if anyone sales a cage that keeps the heater box? Any input would be appreciated.
I removed the entire box, there were multiple benefits, weight, room etc. the only downfall is what you mentioned, I know some guys run an aftermarket unit, myself I have not had a chance to use the electric one I have yet.
I just removed all of mine and I am in the process of installing the summit racing heater. I just have to figure out powering it through my factory controls. But it weighs 11 pounds and that's all the hardware and controls. Just have to plumb it in too
I made a super light heater/defroster with the stock squirrel cage, so it plugs back into the stock wires, so the switch works fine. And quiet and smooth. I bought a blower box form Grangier I saw guy use on here. Its was heavy steel, and alot louder running. The stock one was free too > $40
