Default 60' times

I'm running 4.30's and 11.50 X 28 slicks. My 60' times are in the 1.7's. As far as I can tell there's no tire spin at all at launch. When I come out of the water box it's actually hard to get the tires spinning. Yesterday on two passes I could not warm the tires. Damned near wheelied the last time with almost no tire spin. The car is a Frankenstein of hobbled together crap, but it does have a TH400, S60, UMI torque arm, aftermarket LCA's and panhard rod. The engine is not so great, mostly stock with a Lunati cam and headers. Ran 12.151 @ 112.69 yesterday. As heavy as it is I was shocked it went that fast. My 330' time was 5.050 and that run was the worst 60' of the day at 1.770. Did have my best red light, -001 Altitude density was 4800'.

I do not have a line lock, my plan is to remove all the anti-lock stuff and put a line lock in and hook up the trans brake. I'm foot braking now and I can't hold the car on the line at stall.

So my question if you're still awake, how do I get the 60' time down and more importantly how to I get it consistent? And where are you guys mounting the trans brake switch with the stock steering wheel? My shifter has a button on it but I would rather keep my hands on the wheel.

What converter? Sounds weird that it almost wheelied but only cut a 1.7 60'. I'd get a line lock then get a consistant heat on the tires before playing with anything.

Converter is an ATI. Some confusion on it. It has a number on it that the ATI catalog says has anti ballooning plates, but it doesn't. Called ATI About it and they didn't seem to know what it is. It stalls about 4,000 RPM but at about 3,500 the car will start to move out of the lights. I try to launch at 3,000 but our tree is so quick sometimes I don't have time to get set up before it starts. Car needs a two step and I need to wire up the brake. Going to stay in non electronics for a while, so no delay box in the near future.

.

Wheel speed is good, controlled wheel speed is great.
I run 1.00's and not dead hook and don't want to dead hook, I slow down.

I would beg, borrow or steal a video and have someone record what you have going on.
Paint a stripe to help.
Then I would run the bitch as hard as possible to make it spin.
Raise the rpm, play with tire pressure, chassis adjustments whatever you can to launch harder.
Oh, stop looking at the lights, you are working on the chassis now, so you wait until you hit the spot you want, then launch.

Take good notes every pass, and you should see a pattern.

Good luck.

Oh, this is what I did to my wheel so I could mount a button.
Just trimmed the padding a little.
Button on right is trans brake, button on left is the 3rd nitrous stage.
As soon as I can figure out where, I want to add a 3rd button for the chutes.
