Default "Bulkhead" Rules?

So upon searching about battery relocation I noticed you can have a "bulkhead" instead of a box for the battery, and my understanding if you also have a fuel cell in the passenger compartment too? The one picture I saw just looked like sheetmetal. Does it have to be AIR TIGHT, or is this more of a case of just a barrier? I was thinking a one piece sheet metal that fit the hatch area, that could also be lifted up (after the hatch is opened) to still have access to the trunk area, but here I am with the rules for the track...

I think it just needs to be a barrier. Take a look at the wolfe one because I think it's similar to what you're talking about building.

That's actually the pictures that I was referring to haha. Except theirs would turn down in the middle of the trunk area whereas I want it to go right up to the back seat as I still plan on keeping mine.

I think as long as you create a barrier with minimal gaps you will be fine.

That's what I was thinking due to comparing to the wolfcraft, but just worried since the battery boxes have to be sealed...

Especially any guidelines on material use and thickness?

make it fit as tight as possible. we even will install a weatherstrip along the flange that contacts the hatch. material rules are .024 steel or .032 aluminum minimum thickness.

You want it as air tight as you can get it, to keep the fumes from any fuel leak from getting into the passenger compartment, and to seal it in the event of a fire.
