what all have you done to drop that much weight??? Im at 3430 and I have removed abs, ac, seats, carpet... I'm clearly missing something about dropping weight

There is LOTS of places on these cars to lose weight. The first 200-250 goes away with normal modding if you watch what you buy and do. I have lightened lots of parts most don't. 3.5lb out of the hood hinges, 1lb out of coil brackets, 9lb out of rear bumber support.....and so on and so on. All the parts I have lightened are still substantial enough to do there job. There's pics on this site I have posted of some stuff.
Your iron block lt and 4l80 is gonna add some weight over what I have too.

where is the best place to start the first hole for proper alignment???
i have a 6point cage and and do not have the original front seat bolts any more, i ground them down cause they are not used. i still have the front rears though. its a pain in the a$$ to try and line up.the tunnel will only have a shifter so no console.
also after proper install will i need to trim off any excess??
the things been sitting in the car for a week now just getting some sun and trying to form a shape.

its long on the side, so you have to cut that for your rocker trim.
I started cutting a little X for the shifter hole. I had the Ebrake too at the time so had to slit for that. then got it over them in the middle. didne cut a shifter hole for a while just a slip more for them to get it over the tunnel better. The back it cut strait and will end up at the top edge of were the flat is over the gas tank, so you can use that with the side rolled up inside the cage still. then just get it tight over the tunnel; to the floor for the middle out, the studs in the floor help to hold it down, but make sure its tight along the floor, before you cut a spot for them. then work your way out to a tube, cut a slot to the middle of the tube so it fits around it.and push it all down and keep it tight. You dont really want like a 1 5/8 hole for a 1 5/8 tube, more like a slot going out to that area under the tube, then cut little slots out, so you get like 6-8 triangle flaps. try to fold them under so it still fuzzy carpet up tight to the tube base. If its sort it sucks you see the carpet backer next to the tube. It helps to paint the plaet under the tube on the floor the carpet color. if you used a light primer or somthing it looks really bad any carpet gaps. FYI A inboard tube you can fluff the slot going out to it in the carpet, and it will help hide it. try not the make those cuts at the top or bottom of a hump. (like if you have hoop tunnel legs) The slot will get pulled apart more there, then a flat relaxed spot.

I just out the ozite carpet in my car 4 days ago. I had the less expensive stuff in my last car but I will say it was really thin and pulled apart fairly easily to where you could almost see right trough it. The ozite carpet is twice as thick and about the same weight. A full roll weighs about 5lbs and you use about 2/3 of it one the entire car. Aldo with it being thcker it seemed to not bunch up and wrinkle nearly as much as the cheaper stuff. The biggest problem area is the rear set area and going up over the hump.

I used 3m spray glue for the back half. But i didnt want to glue the front because its not split to go over the shifter or chute handle since i dont run a console. I have aome wiring that goes along the tunnel and i wante to be able to get to it without too much trouble. The seats, shifter and trim holds it in pretty good, even crawling over the cage bars to get in an out it hasnt moved. I also have the door seal trim/kick panel screws going through a couple of grommets too. Just a cheap harbor freight grommet kit.
