I ran a Braille battery for a while. It was like 13.5 lbs and did really well with the 347 as long as I didn't run the fans or bottle heater ANY without the car running. After putting the 427 in the car it just didn't want to crank it. It would slow roll it 2-3 times and fire. Always worried me and I went back to the Optima Redtop. I'll just eat that 16 extra lbs and run my bottle heater at will.

I also had a 11 lb braille and it didnt do so well in the 08 z06. Had to end up going with a stock battery. Put the braille in my dd and still works fine.

Interesting... we ran a Braille 16v unit in a Top Sportsman car early last year and had issues with the N2O firing. We found it easy to charge, but it was lousy at discharging.

.

They go all the way down to 5lbs.
I looked at a couple last year and was probably going to change this winter.
I was over weight last year, so it was worth all the money, they are not cheap.

I was told to only use a trickle charger with my battery other then the alternator. Have you used a regular charger with yours without any issues?

Odyssey PC680. Mounted up front it saves around 20lbs over the stocker (35ish for stock). I've had mine for 4 years now, and it needs to be replaced. I've run it 100% dead at least 20 times, so i'm sure that had a lot to do with killing it. I had a small battery draw that took me a while to diagnose. No complaints, it cranks over my bigger motor just fine and I don't run a lot of accessories.

ya, If you Lay it on its side. The battery is lower, on its side then the stop one. and re do the loom clips across the fans, to loop the pos. a little. You need the 3/8- the metric brass fittings for the stock cables to work. And you have to make a new hold down strap, I have some pics in my build thread how I did it with the stock coolant bottle still.

Ive been telling newera to make a new smaller lighter coolant bottle, that has a battery tray built in for the PC6800. I nice bolt in setup, it would save 20-25pounds. I'm hoping to make a nice setup soon.

The lithium batteries I hear are really nice for guys that have them for max effort race cars. But as a heads up, their $$$$$$ $500 $700+

It's lithiumpros.com for people who want to look at some nice batteries. However, looking at the L545 it's a 16V which won't work for most people and it's $1051. I want one of their batteries but it's last on the list.
