E85 questions
Figure I'd try here first hoping you guys tested e85 more then just "I think"....
Im having my truck tuned next weekend and wondering what other tweaks I can/should do before hand. I'm gonna have it tuned on e85 so I'm wondering if a better plug runs better with e85 or not. Everyone with ls1's use ngk tr-55's but does e85 like a hotter or colder plug or doesn't matter? My truck is a 2011 silvo with a 5.3 with CAI, modded air box and catback with a xr-1 muffler.

One of my concerns is the consistency of the E85. Our pumps say a minimum of 13% but make no claim of the maximum amount. And I don't know how much it matters. Have a 393" blown car and I've worked up a tune for E85, but I'm afraid to actually try it at the strip. Just putting around it seems fine on E85. Was surprised how easy it starts.

Being up in the north here too, just make sure to check the fuel by batch where you're getting fuel. There's a ton of variance of gas content in the E85 in our northern climates month by month. A few boat racers up here found that out the hard way.

I run TR-6 plugs, and I love the E-85 switch, I dont know how close you are to Meijer gas station. They use the same supplier, and ours is good fuel, I have six buddies that run it in various stuff and I run it in all of my vehicles, it will take about four tanks to get it all evened out. I will tell you this, my 07 Tahoe with E-85 and 5.3 will smoke my brother in laws 10 Escalade with the 6.0...
Go for it, you will like it, and the smell is a lot better, plus it is way cleaner...

Edit: Also if you live in a cold place cold starts tend to be worse, but it all depends on the tune.

Im not an expert, but in my opinion you have a lot left in it. With E85 your able to get pretty aggressive with the tuning without getting any knock.
