I'm guessing because GM built it that way that the NHRA will consider the COPO to be "stock suspension". It has a 9" rear which you can't run in a 4th Gen in Stock Eliminator.

The IRS is not really practical for Stock Eliminator, so the NHRA has allowed a four link design that was submitted by Chevrolet. I am in the process of building a B/SA 2010 Camaro from a body-in-white. As this is a non-COPO car the NHRA is having me build it a little differently (12-bolt, etc.). It should go to the paint shop next week.

(No photos until it has gone down the track!)

I was thinking more along the lines of the old factory 3 link/torque arm setup. I know the IRS won't work.

There is debate as to how to use the COPO as a basis for factory style suspension in certain drag radial classes. If GM only offers the 4 link, I wonder if the 5th gen Camaro will ever be allowed to race in a class like X275

I don't see why it shouldn't be accepted. The four link is NHRA approved as stock.

On another note COPO #6 should be finished in June.

If you havent already seen it, this is a cool link to the COPOs being built. Number 6 is the white car on the lift. My delivery is now July/August.

There is a photo of number 32 on that site. So, I guess that your car is under construction. I heard from Jamie that they are doing more testing with the 4.0 blower combination. It should be a mean piece.
