These cars should be bad to the bone. I can't wait to see some in action at the track.

Two things in that spec list have me wanting more info. The ceramic ball lifters and the cast aluminum 6 quart oil pan. It would be nice if Chevy Performance had a drag oriented pan available for purchase with better oil control while still fitting and functioning like any other stock oil pan.

I am still waiting for an answer on that one. They have yet to reveal what will actually be submitted to the NHRA. You can probably guess how I feel about the HP numbers. I have already expressed my opinion to GM!

Maybe they will take advantage of the situation like Ford and Mopar did... but without a 4-speed in the guide I just can't get that into it.

Not sure how they plan on pulling off those HP numbers, but I'm sure there's gonna be quite a few protests, and subsequent horsepower adjustments right off the bat.

A 13:1, huge cammed, ls7 making 30hp less than a production zo6 engine? Lol.

maybe its the "cali friendly" version they are posting..

just reminds me of how they did it back in the 60's with the ratings.

If these numbers are submitted to the NHRA it will probably be a while before we see any adjustments. You really have to understand how this game works..............

(The Z06 would get killed in Stock Eliminator)

Hey, I say more power to them if they can get away with it. It just sucks for guys like yourself that are competing with cars that are rated with less "advertised horsepower" and truly have to read between the lines to wring every last ounce of power out of a setup. When the factory drag Pak cars can have a motor making 150-200hp more than they're "rating" and no one has a leg to stand on when it comes to protesting it.

You're right, I don't understand all the fine details of Stock racing that make it what it is. Whether it's all technical, or part political, I'm not sure. It's definately the most interesting class of drag racing in my opinion.

Isn't the mustang cobra jet rated at 425-430 hp and runs low 9s? Not sure how these ratings work for this class but obviously not too accurate.

I actually have a 427 COPO coming. The HP numbers for S/SS are just a factor. As to how good the COPO will be at those numbers I really dont know. I am excited about the prospect of finding out!!

^ I guess the Copo 427 did better in testing than the 2.9L 327.
