All I can say is that my family used to be die hard ford fans...I'm not taking anything away from fords...but I do have to say that no one in my family drives a ford anymore... I drove a mach 1 and then a WS6 and they were comparable...but I still felt that the mach 1 was alittle weaker....that's just my opinion...but thats a big reason why I just bought a WS6....

Since he's done some suspension/chassis mods. Should be an 11 second car now. We should know within the next month. This MACH will surprize a lot of LS1's since it sounds stock, until you hear the turbo whistle, and blowoff.

I have an 03 cobra and I have a 2001 ws6 with 55000 trouble free miles on it and I still laugh every time I go on a mustang board and see guys saying that the f bodys are junk and have all kinds of problems. My ws6 has been nothing but good to me.I used to be a die hard ford man but now I think that as long as you like the car it dont matter what the name on the front of it is.

Just to clear it up, the Mach 1 internals aren't any weaker then the '99/'01 Cobra's. The compression is up a bit from 9.8 to 10 and that's why people are weary of boosting them. To me .2 isn't really that big of a difference and with intercooling it shouldn't be a big deal to run 8lbs.
As for your 12.97 that's a good run. I went 12.90 with a crappy 1.94 60' on Nitto's. I babied it out of the hole because I had smoked my clutch good a couple weeks before. I wanted to make sure it held.

Thanks Jim. I'm pretty happy with the car. It's funny you mention your friends car because that's the reason I have the Mach 1 now. I got tired of wrenching on my '94 GT that pretty much had everything done to it. I got to drive it maybe one day of the week and the rest of the time I was working on it and driving my beater Saturn around. Got tired of it so I sold both cars and bought the Mach.

Check my sig!
That is with no headers, stock internals and a good 3750 lbs weight. The only Stangs that bite on a tease are 5.0's and Cobras. And I have to admit that 5.0's are slapping the **** out of Cobras most of the time.

Nice times for the Mach 1s guys. Would be a fun race for my 02 Z. 12.87 at 111 with a lid/catback. Seems the Machs are getting better 60 foots than the LS1s on radials. On the 12.87 pass my 60' was a 2.08, and the track prep was pretty good.

Different driver, maybe. I'm not too bad of a driver, if I do say so myself. Car is full weight, jack/spare, front sway bar intact. Stock suspension including the rear control arms. Clutch is a little on the weak side though. Track prep is very important. Track prep was pretty good for the track I ran at. But that's not saying much, the place is a **** hole.
Got my last Mustang to run 12.6s at 109 w/1.85 60' on street radials. No sway bar and aftermarket rear control arms. No F-bodies could keep up with it from a dig on street tires 2 years ago.
