Default What to do to run 12.0??

First off mods if this is the wrong place sorry. But to start off i have a 99 z28 with vig 4k stall, 3.42 gear, lid, umi t/a, headers and "mufflex" style cat back. Stock heads,ls1 intake, stock cam.Not sure if the car was tuned before or not for the headers so I don't know if that's going to make a difference yet or not. Planned on going through the motor and adding the setup in sig before LSX shoot out but I've been bracket racing on te weekend and don't want this down for the summer or however long so I'm trying to keep it bolt on and try and run 12.0 index at the shoot out. It currently runs consistent 8.30 in the 1/8th but it has went 8.20 before. Cutting 1.73-1.78 60' on the 335 drag radials. Just not sure if these times seem ok? Seems a little slow to me but idk. Planned on adding my fast intake on it before having it tuned for bolt ons, but my main issue is what else is needed to try and get it to 12.0 without tearing to far into it and if those times seem ok or if they seem slow? I'm new to this a4 thing so I'm unsure lol. Sorry for any confusions I'm a tad tired , but thanks!

My car went 7.7's with Full exhaust, 4K stall, LS6 intake, and a UDP on STOCK suspension and 275/50 ET Street Radials.

I only got to make 3 passes before I took the car apart for the turbo build but it went consistent 7.7's @ 88 with 1.67-1.70 60's.

Get the car tuned. Lose a little bit of weight and add a few more bolt ons like an LS6 intake, CHRS1313 armair and you'll be right there.

need to lose .5 in the 1/8 to get there. 7.60-7.70 is around 12.00 in the 1/4.
Lose weight, add gear!

Untuned headers gained me exactly 1 hp over otherwise stock exhaust. Had it tuned and it came back with all the advertised gains. Not getting into specifics but the engine needed more fuel and was hearing false knock.

Have the car dyno'ed and tuned. At least verify health.

Aside from that, race weight can be lowered. Use the sticky up top. Get some ideas.

Yeah it's got th front sway bar out and rear seats with belts gone. Hardtop car too. Forgot to add that I planned on going e85 with the hci swap. So if I get e85 tuned for bolt ons I've got a set of 60lb injectors I can toss in when i put the 90/92 on before I get tuned

What was the DA of the 8.20 run? I would expect to be a little faster than that. Getting to 12.0 with bolt-ons is not easy in normal midwest summer weather. I would definitely get it tuned, get a ram air setup, an LS6 intake and drop as much weight as you can.

with the fast on there and tuned it should pick up decent power. being a hardtop with that small amount of weight gone you should be in the 7's 1/8 th already so either the da' is pretty high or it needs tuned.
