Turning a bolt in 6 point into a certed 8 point????
Ive been getting hastled for the last 2 years about running to quick on my bolt in wolfe cage. I LOVE that cage because most of the time i barely even recognize its there, and i put hella street miles on my car and daily it any day its nice. Anywho I seen that wolfe makes the weld in conversion from a 6 point to 8 point cage. Would I be ok to just weld up my bolt in and add that kit?

I would go to a real 8point form scratch
The bolt in 6point is super easy to remove, and you can sell them for good money. When I had one I bought it used, ran it for a year and sold it for more. It sold really fast, and even months after I posted it sold I got random PM asking if I still had it.
The bolt in 6point is heavy, its got alot of extra metal in the joints, and the extra plates and hearwear to bolt it in. And its alot bigger and thicker tubing then you need for a 8.50 add on.
So if you add on what you have its gona be alot heavier then it need to be. The wolfe 6points are all bigger 1 3/4 tubing and the same wall thinness (on the tick size... .134 mild, .095 4130) You can do a legal 8.50 cage all in lighter 1 5/8 tube (.083), and a few other tubes can be smaller. I bet a good shop that useing the min spec can do you a 8.50 without the window net thats the same wight as the bolt in 6point you have now.
