Default Stripped Down Stock Steering Column

Anyone ever stripped down a stock steering column?
Just wondering, before I buy a lite weight race column.
Really not trying to lighting it up, just want to removing all accs., turn signals, ect.

I did that but it ended up looking like crap from missing all of the stuff. I ended up going with the column pictured and powdercoated it black.

Use the lightweight column with quick release wheel hub and call it a day.

I have a stripped down stock column after locking the wheel at 130mph to read the plugs. It probably only took me a split second to turn the key back on but it felt like a really long time. It no longer locks now, lol.

6spd column or lock cylinder would take care of that problem

I had the same thing for a little while. I don't know about your's but my quick release always seemed to have a lot of side to side play in the wheel. When I switched over to the smaller Strange quick release it went away.

I haven't notice any play in mine yet. I'll keep that in mind.

It only took 20-30 mins to gut stock column and I was back at the track next day. No big deal in track only car.
