Default Vig3200 to Yank 4200 track results

Well, on the Vigi I couldn't get better than a 12.76 @ 106, but since I installed the YTP4200, an ASP pulley, and shaved 125lbs, I ran a 12.04 @ 111mph.

I'm pretty happy with the setup, but you always want that 11 second pass. My 60' with the Vigi were 1.76 at best, and the Yank did consistent 1.62s. I know the Yank has more in it because even on a 17" ET street the car hooks, them spins a little ways out. THe converter is great though.

Actually it hooked pretty hard. The car still has a factory TB and intake and needs a tune, but yeah, the difference between the two is huge to say the least.

Way cool!
I am hoping for very similair results. My Vig 3600 would not 60ft better than 1.7with E/T streets (dead hook) and my new vertor SS4000 has pulled a very slippery 1.7 on dr's leaving at idle and SLOWLY rolling into throttle.
I know i should have done better with my old Vig3600 but i could not make it work for over 1 year .
Congrats on your new times,I'm sure you will find a way to get that 11 sec run.
Are you tuned? and if so what did you gain the most from?(OOPS,just read you are not tuned, sorry . It's getting late, need sleepy!

Thanks. I'm telling you man, my car launched with the Vigi, but flattened out quick and didn't pull half as hard as the Yank. The root of my new times was due to the Yank and weight reduction. Those two go hand and hand. I'm going to get an LSX and the mathcing TB, Sparcos, stock springs in the rear (Eibachs now),and get the air/fuel ratio tuned and shoot for an 11.8 pass with a 1.5 60'. Wish me luck

Very good time with the Yank 4200. I have one to. My goal is to run a 11.99 pass or better on a bolton car. However, I had brake problems and park my car far awhile, but one day, I will be back at the track. I ran 12.20's in 75 degree weather, but have not run since. Cheers and good luck at the track. cheers.........................................

vigs must not ya'll

I always saw 1.58-62's SI on nittos with that stall and 3.23's at 112mph
Cam only on et streets I saw 1.55-56's with the vig3600 and 117mph

raceweight is 3500 pounds or so also

i'd would think any vig3600 should see 1.6's easy!

sorry to hear about your luck with it and i hope the yank gets you your numbers

with a little more seat time you should fine the sweet spot though! It took me an year to get from 1.77's to 1.60's or better

just an fyi, but she pulled a 1.74 on dunlop 8000's on 17inch rims cam only(12.01 @ 114) LMAO now that was feathering the pedal

we have bascially twin setups same heads only i have 3.23's and a 224 cam

any dyno numbers for yours(tuining that is) I cant wait to get some good track passes this fall! So far on a one wheel wonder(posi shot) and a crappy 1.66 in +1500 air she went 11.5 @ 119 so im sure she should see low low 11's in good air and a 1.49 60ft

Dear John,

Thanks for the update, 12 flat is what I want with my SS, but dang! What mods do you have again? All my SS has is Hooker LTs & ORY, Vig3200, FTRA, TS&P Lid on Convo Pros with ET Streets ... and it runs the same time you were running, 12.74 @ mid-106s with a 1.72 60'. I plan to add an ASP pulley and use HPTuners software to tune my SS.

I know what you mean about the vig on the top-end ... it kinda dies down, launches great though! I think with that converter I could be at very low 12s (12.2-12.1). I don't want any lower, don't want to put in a roll bar in my nice SS.

I have all boltons other than a throttle body and I still have the stock LS1 intake. I'm going to swap the shocks for Billingsley Strange drag shocks, drop another 75lbs, get my LSX/TB and shoot for 11.8s. Wish me luck.

I went 11.67 w/Vig 3200 SI on 11.5/15 et streets and 323 gears. This was in Baytown in Dec. 14. Sixty was 1.566. Only weight reduction was pass. and rear seat, spare tire and jack, front sway-bar,and convo pros. Car has lid,pulley,cut-out,mac headers and predator tune. Also, I only made one pass because I did not have a cage. DA-500.

98TAauto, I still have a bolton tune and went to the track with a one wheel wonder also and ran a 11.46@118.8 with a 1.61 60'. I just put in a new posi unit and got some new slicks and Im waiting for new tune. Im hoping for low 1.5s and high 1.4s if the track will hold it. Later.
