Default So who's all chasing the 6speed LS1 Fbody stock internal record?

Just curious, bc I haven't seen much about it. If I had to guess, I'd say the guys in the running are

NSSANE02
Magnet
nmass399

and myself

This is for the 6speed guys. If you're not going for the 6 speed record, or don't have anything constructive to add, please don't post. Thanks

10.6 is the auto record, and yes it was with a built race car. IIRC they blew their race motor and tossed in a stocker(could be wrong).

11.42 is the m6 record i believe.

The big question is why does anyone care lol. Kind of like who has the record for fastest top speed on a Harley with a weedwacker engine. All the stock this and stock that records are stupid, in my humble opinion.

I am one of the one's who will be going for it. I am about 60 to 70 percent sure i can run faster than a 11.424 when it gets cold out. The roll cage has hurt me a good bit because of the weight. I guess we will see what it can do after the lsx shootout. Funny thing is that i have not ever been able to run in the cold weather or semi cold weather with the setup i have now or even close to this setup.

Holy hell.... I just realized that run was made in 10/2006 that was the last season my car ran until 10/2011.

Good luck yall... Im not sure if the SI rules allow it, but I will say one of the issues that came up not long after running those times was the valve springs started to take a ****.

Definately consider throwin some OEM/Stock replacement springs in, mine didnt last long turning the RPM's needed through the traps.

BTW, yall are lucky Im outta the SI game!! (just some friendly trash talk)

Because you guys took it that way, you deliberately did what I kindly asked not to do, and then the petty name calling all of which says alot about who you are

If you actually knew me, you'd realize I'm actually one of the nicest people you'd know.

Let's not turn this into a forum battle. I didn't create this thread for chilidish nonsense like that. I have better things to do with my time..

Such as- talking about gutted 6 speed fbodies going for the S.I. record

Gutted sounds harsh.. How about Lightened? that's better

So far it looks like 4 people are possibly going for the record

I want to say it was 1500 or more for the 11.47 and for the 11.48 i ran in atlanta. I just looked it up on dragtimes da calculator and it said 1152da for the 11.47 but when i compare what i get on my weather station and what dragtimes says the weather station is always around 1000 da higher.

I was pretty close then i put the rollcage in and had the valvespring issue.

Yeah mine got weak, i spent alot of time trying to figure out what was happening. I bought a new oem set with the same part # as stock and put in there. To myself i consider it ok as long as its the same as stock springs but i hope no one would object to it. The no lift shifting is what got em i think, the rpm's would shoot up to 6800 on my data log. I could probably run just as quick with the original springs just won't be able to power shift, thats the only time it would act up.

The way i see it now is the no lift shifting won't be any quicker from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th because of how slow it goes into gear with this trans. 1st to 2nd tho is very very quick.

Depending on how low the temps get during the cooler months, you have the potential to be a tenth, maybe 2 tenths quicker. I run at Atco Raceway here in NJ. track elevation is 33' above sea level, and temps can be in the lower 40s, high 30s in the fall/winter/early spring months

I used to shift like that, but I got tired of going thru transmissions lol. I practiced lifting just a little bit off the throttle when shifting and it sounds quick & works well.

To be honest i am thinking it will only run in the 11.3x's at best. I am just hoping i can get back to running the 11.5x's again. I ran several months ago and was only able to get high 11.7x's out of it with a da above 3000 on my weather station. The car with me in it was about 3500 lbs at that time. I expect to be around 3350 when i pull some of the other stuff out of it for the colder months.

I am still on this same gto m12 at the moment, i have been beating on it for a little over 2 years now. It has easily 150 passes on it, not to mention street pulls. Its really showing its wear and tear now. It might be a little bit quicker to shift letting off the throttle a little with my car because of the trans not wanting to go into 3rd or 4th easy. It really seems like it sometimes.
