I don't know whats wrong with a wood deck ?

I can always replace it or remove the wood and install diamond plate.

Even thought about some aluminum diamond plate.... but with the costs of aluminum, it could be a bit $$$ pricey.

Aluminum is the way to go in the long run, but a bunch of money

I say get a decent trailer with brakes on both axles if you want to get a "cheap" trailer. I have an open steel trailer with a wood floor and dual axle brakes that I haul stuff with all the time and I love having it. We have an alumium enclosed trailer to carry the race car and golf cart with though.

Mine is a 2010 Anderson 18' wood deck, open middle. It weighs 1129lbs. I bought it off of a friend of mine with very little use on it for $1500. He had purchased it out of state. New they are around $2500-$2800. If you are getting a trailer just for your car, get an open middle. It will weigh less and make it easier to secure tie downs underneath the car. It make it easier to inspect stuff under the car if you need to. Mine has a quick release fender to be able to open the driver side door while it's on the trailer., LED lights and decent brakes. It tows pretty easy. Those trailers that you rent from Uhaul weigh well over 2200lbs.

I can get 15-16mpg towing. 5.3 2wd Silverado

I take it dove tail and ramps is the way to go for no clearance issues? Been looking at getting into a trailer for a while now

Wood weighs a lot less than aluminum, but isn't nearly as durable. What does your trailer title say?

My title:

My title actually says 1600 with a 7500gross. It pulls easier than my featherlite did. I need to get a scale weight on it to know for sure. Most steel trailers tend to go atleast 1800. Many are over 2000. My dads steel deck 16ft trailer is near 2000lb.

Get a scale weight on it, I would be really surprised if your trailer weighed 1129.
