I have a 402 lsx nitrous car and I'm pretty sure I need a vacuum pump. I have no power brakes and currently have no pcv, I am running a Vic jr and a accufab tb and am pushing oil in different places ..... I do have one crank case breather but I'm looking at buying a 99-2007 f250 electric vacuum pump on it but I don't know how much vacuum it actually pulls. Does anyone have any ideas or know anything about those ford vacuum pumps?

Most people pick up 10-20 horses on a stock application. It also keeps oil out of your combustion chambers which is a big plus.
GZ Motorsports makes the only complete kit, and also uses the tensioner pulley to drive the pump which saves a lot of headaches and makes for a easy bolt-on installation.
GZ pumps are also designed to last a lot longer on the street than the other brands. www.GZMOTORSPORTS.com

I doubt the Ford unit would pull much of any vacuum by the size of it, maybe run two of them and report back??... Definitely go with Moroso or Star though. If you dont wanna run a belt drive, Star does have an electric unit$$$

I never dyno'd any our race cars without the pump but have had zero issues with very large nitrous setups and the gz pump setup. You also have to adjust how much vacuum the pump pulls to get the most from it.

Thats not what Ive seen, did a back to back this summer on the new moroso promod pump gained 55hp on a 1K+ hp NA BBC, cast intake, 1 carb. NA class motor. That was over a older moroso non enh. 3vane that was pulling about 10". That pump is not cheap, and the motor was BIG.
Most other stuff gains at least 30 on smaller 400 cube bad street motor stuff. More on stuff with poor oil pan and control, and over 8K race stuff.
BTR has a vacum pump to test the motors for leak, its 220v. You need to have it sealed The LS stuff is not that bad, the rear main is reversed, VC gasket are captured, and all others. The older stuff can be alot harder to seal.

I've talked to several customers that ran their cars on the chassis dyno before and after installing a vacuum pumps. 10-15 HP increase is average.
I run 15"HG on my 555 BBC and don't seem to suck dust through the seals, although I race on pavement so I can't be sure....

I got a 3 vane moroso older style one, pulls 12" on mine with a regulator. Its hooked up with a Jones Racing drive mandrel they custom made for my weird 35% undrive ATI balancer. very nice people there and everthing they sold me to hook up my alternator and vac pump drive works awesome. It was pricey but I needed something to work with what I had and they made it on the spot same day and shipped it out to me.
