Bending wheel studs?

Bending wheel studs? So in september i went to the dragstrip with my mickey et streets mounted on v6 camaro steel wheels and bent all the wheel studs on the drivers side of my s60 rear that had 12 mm studs, so i upgrade to 1/2 studs and just went this past weekend and bent them again, Strange tells me i can't use the steel wheels with my stock lugs and that i need to get new wheels and shank lugs? I don't get why my header/tune car is doing this? Has anyone else here ran drag radials on steel wheels? I have saw other cars use them with no problem, and my best 60 foot was a 1.9. Just sick of wasting money to get 2 runs in at track

it was supposed to be to 100 but I was using a cordless impact with a torque stick, and I just now figured out by checking the other side with a torque wrench that the cordless impact only had them tightened to 85, so im hoping that's all my problem was
I had all mine bend on ther left and right of my S60 running a 310bfg drag radial on an 11" zr1 wheel stock lug nuts. I know all my lugs were torqed to 100lbft. I just took my axles out brought them to Strange and had them drilled and installed 5/8". Now they dont bend on bias ply M6 launches. I think the 12mm and 1/2" are just too weak for racing but no expert. I didn't want to risk my life finding out if another set could hold up. The bad part is you'll need some good looking drag wheels.
ARP wheel studs FTW. I always had problems with strange studs, same ****, bend, threads bind up.
The strange 12 bolt i had was in the car when I bought it, got a Moser rear end and have had several Moser's without issues.

From what I have seen, using the stock wheels is the problem. I cut 1.5 60s in my 3900lb camaro all day long on 1/2" strange studs. But on race wheels with shank style lugnuts. I believe they make shank lugs for the stock wheels. But I have never used them, so I cant comment on whether they work better or not.
