Default Battery Relocation Box

I know this has been asked a ton of times, but I have searched and haven't heard AND seen a clear cut answer. I have mostly read: this box works and fits and then a few posts later it says that that one will not work.

I am looking to relocate my battery to the spare tire well in the back. Can anybody provide me with a specific manufacturer's name and part number for a box that will meet NHRA requirements and still be concealed under the plastic? Yes, I am looking for a sealed, vented box that fits in the spare tire well without having to add a bulkhead. I would really like to see a picture of this installed too if you have one.

I have read through many threads and can't find an exact response on which one will or won't work. Believe me, I would love to run the BMR or the Burkhart Chassis ones (as they look very nice), but I only like doing these builds once. I don't want to go to the track and find out that I can't run. Some tracks are more relaxed than others, but I don't want to take the risk.

For what it's worth, I will be using a red top Optima in the box.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you everybody!

Agreed, thank you. The Tick setup looks nice. I would prefer a little larger wire and would prefer a different switch as well. I know those are the next obstacles. I might end up with their kit.

The first issue is the battery box. The one they are recommending is the BMR one. I understand some tracks may let that fly with the trim piece covering, but I am not willing to take that risk. Appreciate the comments though.

Without a bulkhead the BMR battery tray( I would call that a tray it's not in an enclosure) isn't legal. Moroso has a box... That will bolt in the t top well, no one makes a box that will sit in the spare tire well without installing a bulkhead.

The taylor box will fit if you cut out the standoff bracket when the spare tire "hook" goes into.

Does anyone happen to have the part. Number for the Taylor box that fits in the spare tire location?

Use the Burkhart one with your plastic spare tire cover. Just take a piece of aluminum and make a bulkhead to replace the oem one. Check out Racecraft's bulkhead for ideas or just buy one. Very simple design and passes. Optima's are a sealed gel cell and don't need to be vented. That's why you can mount them in any position. The biggest reason they want them covered is in the event of an explosion and to keep from inadvertently having something come in contact with the terminals.
