You don't need wrinkle wall slicks to pull the wheels up!! You really need some susp. work and a good set-up! With your mods that car should be down to 11.5s Check Drag Results, a friends bolt-on car just went 11.98 and 1.59 60' at Atco last week!! I'm cam-only (and a small one at that) and my best times are in sig. As for tires, you can't beat MT DRs, and I launch like Lemons12, 1000-1200rpm and flash the converter. Dead hooks at every track!!

To pull tire or not pull tire is a massive topic and not something that can be said in one sentance.
If you need weight transfer the the more wheelie the better to keep weight out back. If that is the case then a wheelie is the only way to make that car be it's fastest.
If you can dead hook and don't need the entire weight of the car on the rear tires to do so then just lifting the tires a touch off the track for the first bit of track helps get you out of the hole.
In a perfect world every launch would look identical to all the big classes. Top fuel being king **** obviously. If you notice they(funny car especialy) pull the front tires 2-4 inches, carry them for 60-100 feet and set them down. That is the "perfect" balance of weight transfer and getting the front off the ground to reduce resistance.

Find out why it is SO slow first. Tires aren't helping you. A true drag radial will get you closer to your goal. Here is mine when it was stock internal. A 1.53 60' should get you there.
